Re: Cricket Stars and their cars

Saw Dhoni's new black Land Rover Freelander outside his brother-in-law's place last night. The car is running on temp WB plates. Could not click a pic though. Also saw his Hummer H2 and Mitsubishi Pajero being washed couple of days back at Dhoni's residence.

Duh! MSD has good taste with bikes, wish I could say the same about his cars as well.

It’s high time he moved into more tasteful and classy automobiles. Hummer H2, LRF2, Pajero, Scorpio, and what’s new, a GMC Sierra (for cryin’ out loud!). Looks like he’s still in his childhood big bad SUV dream.

I agree, to each their own, but being such a famous personality, I think its about time he gifted himself something a bit more gentleman’ish.

Re: Cricket Stars and their cars

if someone loves SUV - what can we say?

though i believe he could have got the range rover or something instead of the freelander - but let's face it - their money - they know where they want to spend.

remember why dhoni got famous?? long hair - extreme batting style. there was nothing gentleman'ish about that!! what better way to express your true self - than a car??
even if it's a SUV

That’s why I said, “to each their own” in my previous post. He can do whatever he pleases with his money. What I said was my take on his choice.

The long hair is now long gone, so did most of the “extreme” batting, so why not mature a bit in the automobile department too?

Should go for the G-wagon. He could learn a thing or two from his best friend Yuvraj Singh.

The G55 sips 97 octane fuel..Ranchi and its availability really spoil it for someone who can afford the car..

Isn't this an old news? Heard that he got a R8 instead of this Q5 after paying the difference in price.

Re: Cricket Stars and their cars

Just came across this update on AutoCar India.

Kapil Dev goes Porsche

"Cricket World Cup-winning former India captain and fast bowler Kapil Dev took delivery of the first-ever Panamera diesel in the country on Friday."

I am not 100% sure on this as i vaguely remember a Builder in Ahmedabad taking delivery of a Diesel Panamera sometime around Janmasthmi period. Shall check on this

Re: Cricket Stars and their cars

Anil Reddi, Director of Porsche India, hands over the first Porsche Panamera Diesel to Kapil Dev. Power comes from a 3.0 litre V6 diesel with 550 Nm torque on tap.
