Its actually JVLR and not powai and i'd say it was a reasonable price for both the parties.

However, it would have been nicer for Virat to pick up a Huracán instead assuming he shouldn't have had a budget constraint. Also, the first owner of the Spyder as a replacement is awaiting something which could be called a world exclusive.

So he has two cars with the same engine and considering his old R8, this would be his 3rd.
He didnt wait for the new R8 though which I feel is not as good looking as the old R8.

Virat Kohli has become an owner of the Audi R8 LMX. The model is a limited edition and only 99 will be sold globally. The car was launched in India in January this year at a price of Rs. 2.97 crore ex-Delhi.

The R8 LMX uses a mid-mounted, 5.2-litre, V10 petrol engine that develops 562 BHP and 540 Nm of torque. A 7-speed S Tronic gearbox transmits power to all four wheels through a Quattro all-wheel drive system. Audi claims that the LMX can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 320 km/h. The car is equipped with laser beam headlight technology, which is claimed to offer an illumination range of up to 500 metres.

Exactly my question, irrespective of the exclusivity, he had already owned a R8 V10 before. He just picked up a pre owned Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder as well. Why would he spend his own hard BATTED money on another Audi?

I wouldnt be surprised if this is another Audi stunt to associate themselves with celebrities, not to forget, the Master is the brand ambassador for a competitor brand. I'd say, this isnt something VK has paid for.

I agree, this can be another valid reason too.

Instead of being paid for promoting via ads he would have been gifted cars by Audi as the fee and being promoted as the face of Audi (India).
