Also does anyone here have any update on the 7 Series? Last I knew, he had a Black 730ld which was a Stienway edition which is the only one in the country!
I did hear a few months ago he was getting the X5 M50d. And it was because of this and the M6 GC that his M5 and X5 3.0 were being sold.

Re: Cricket Stars and their cars

From what I heard ST was replacing his old X5 with an X5//M. This was circa the time his M5 and X5 was put up on auction. As the ACI report is very recent, maybe he did end up getting the X5//M50d since.

Also, I think the Steinway & Sons was limited to the 750Li only

Now the 760li I don't know about. But it would be cool if it were true.

They were considering putting it up as the 3rd 'Sachin' car in the recent auction, but decided not to just a few days before. That's all i know - so i assume its still with him (or BMW).

So I just checked and apparently he does have an FL 760li with his initials in many places, like headrests and the idrive knob.

Re: Cricket Stars and their cars

Saw this one on a website. I do not have the reference now unfortunately. Saved the pic.

Cricket Stars and their cars-m1000.jpg

I saw an old b&w snap of Sachin arriving in a Maruti 800, in a recent TOI paper wherein they had claimed it was his first car. The MH registration number ended in 6789 IIRC. Couldn't find the pic anywhere on Google images - searched a dozen times! If someone is able to find it, please post it here. TIA.

PS: Few of my colleagues who lives on the other side of the city, seems to have spotted his old 360 Modena here. The Rajhans owner seems to take it to a temple near Piplod.

It is a 730ld and not a 750.

Never seen it in his garage or heard of it from his close friend. The 7 is the 730ld.

There was no replacement to the 7 and hence he has kept it.

I beg to differ here..he does not like his name being on the car. He still has the 730ld.

Awesome! Do you have any information on the specs of the 5.0d? I remember the X5's with 5.0i engine, 5.0d would be insane!! The ACI website says 2993 CC .

Well, so it is. The 5.0d badge is blissfully misleading.

Thats bad on BMW's part! In the good old days 40i/50i/60i meant 4/5/6 litre engine respectively. Why do they have to resort to such tactics!!

They are all down sizing engines and adding turbo's and superchargers to give performance. I for one would have loved bmw to give a V8 in the M550d, X5 m50D.
