evo 5 in chennai

heres a pic of an evo 5 i got at a mechanic shed....they were modding it...had a purple nos bottle in the back seat...
the mechanic also told me tht during the weekends the 360 spider ,carerra s,m3 and the modded evo race on east coast road...the ferrari won last time ,the m3 was a close 2nd but ended up witha broken gear knob ...chennai boyz let s grab some pics...we can give mubai a run for the supercar capital

Isn't that the Madans' car? If it is, torquemaestro, it's an Indian Lancer body with engine and drivetrain imported. I think it matches Evo VI specs, and it clocked a 12.47 run in Mumbai.

You Chennai guys are lucky. Bangalore moneybags rarely let their babies breathe free.

ps. I see NO connection between the two posts of torque and pjspeed...

Yes, it is Madan's car. Its an Indian lancer completely upgraded to EVO specs. Insanely fast! It was the fastest car at the Mumbai speed run.

Mumbai is far ahead in terms of exotic cars but of late, have been seeing really nice cars in Madras like the new Range Rover, The Cayenne, The Carrera, SL55, RR Silver spirit.....Btw the S, C and E class and the BMW 3 and 5 series are choc a bloc.

EVO 5,huh? i honestly dont know if i have to call it the EVO IV or the EVO VI..its JD's car and it hasnt been running since the mumbai speedrun, its been having too many problems of which the last one i heard was that the oil pump ceased.

about the race u mentioned torquemaestro, every sunday morning at 6 am sharp, wait at the ECR toll gate, u'll get to see 11 superbikes and 8 hot imports including the ferrari 360, two porsche boxters, 2 911 carreras, a nissan 350Z, a cayenne. all racing each other till mahabalipuram and then back...its a race u'll never forget in a lifetime....but if u need to watch it, u either need a 300 bhp car or a superbike atleast.

never knew of something like this going on!!!
i'll try to catch up with those guys some time!!
but sundays 6:00 AM... its way too early for a sunday

...thats the only day we get to sleep.... but well if the option is to see some real cars, then hey, we can do the sleeping in the weekdays too .. during office hours of coz,,... like we care

torquemaestro told me about this evo some time ago. It is JD's car, as Nitrous confirmed.

torquemaestro's one lucky bugger, been seeing a few Porches lately ( 997 Carrera S black colour, 3 Cayennes I think).

btw A black 7 series was spotted by one of my friends two days ago.

I hope to see the Carrera S sometime, they say it keeps passing close by my place regularly.

PS: Mumbai and Chennai dudes, chill!!!! Lets talk about India finally hotting up and us Indians getting to see some nice cars finally after 50 years of isolation from the automobile world!!!!

Or you can wait for the great equalizer - the red traffic light. Happened to spot the Nissan and one of the Porsches at the Kotturpuram signal around 9 am a couple of Sundays ago.

I had just made the right turn from Chamiers Road onto Kotturpuram High Road and waited at the corner just to hear these 2 cars take off.

my school mate got a bmw 545 d [i ve heard its the best diesel car in the world..is tht true?]
n yea a mini cooper was spotted alon g with jd madans 2 evo s ...hmm..n yea there a mazda miata ban opposit the ferrari owners house..the guy alos has a purple bmw.......my holidays start this weekend..i m gonna hunt cars with my cam...ciao...
