I always loved chasing sweet exhaust notes across Mumbai for which many of my friends think i'm a petrosexual, but i never thought there will be whole bunch of people whom with I share the passion. I thanked my friend tons of times who directed me to TeamBHP. As he told me that the membership is very limited & he is trying since last few months without luck, so I thought it must be a elitist club of owners rather than enthusiast. But when i logged in i submitted my form within half an hour as i found tons & tons & tons of people whom with i share my passion. MODs approved my membership in 6 days from registration. It wont be a hyperbole if i say that i check countless times for the approval mail during the time frame. I had no reactions when i saw the confirmation mail. i Just didn't know how to respond.
I lost my primary weapon to chase the hotties in town; my Honda Activa in an accident. A few broken teeth & bones but i'm sure i'll be up n running in few days. I guess i'll have to chase on MTB cycle now.... LoLzzz
Enough chatter ! ! ! Now lets head to the story of a beast sighting in Mumbai.

Location & the Joyride

-> Spotted at Tilak Bridge, Dadar with an escort of Audi Q7

-> Ohh my ! ! those roars on the bridge . . A definite head turner . . (i Struggle to take out my camera at the signal so settle on my cell camera)

-> R8 starts cutting through the crowd with angry roars of V8. The beast tamer was pretty used to the car's might & crowd cutting as he directly went to kabutar-khana which is like the most hardest place to drive in u cant even ride a bike without tons of honking as its the hub of one of the most crowded market in Mumbai (Dadar)

-> Salute to the owner not a single mis-shift or a slightest touch to anything/anyone in area where u'll find 4-6 people each Sq/Meter.

-> Reached Senapati Bapat Road, there the beast started showing its might. My Activa was too punny to follow the German excellence but the traffic was in my favor. The escort Q7 was a 4.2 Quattro which looked like a mighty elephant chasing a tiger. Q7's driver was pretty skilled as he kept on the tail of Beast even when R8 was furiously cutting lanes & speeding. It was magical to see such awesome driving by both.

-> R8 took a U-turn for Pheonix mills (Mall), donno how but i managed to get an eye contact with R8 owner & asked him for snaps. He signed at the mall.

-> I was awesomely delighted. :D

-> The mall has very distant & different parking for 2 wheelers & 4 wheeler so I went to park by scooter. Rushed my camera setup & went to car parking, Searched all the 3 floors of parking & asked loads of attendants about the car. Gosh I had to explain the car's appearance in such a way that they could understand. It was hilarious.

-> Couldn't find the car anywhere, so started cursing myself for a missed chance & thought where can a 95,000 GBP(Excluding Duties & Tax) car just vanish in thin air ?

-> At the same juncture heard a loud roar of a V8 i was pretty sure about the origin of such melody.

-> I started running towards the origin with my 90KG+ body mass & wet cloths cause of sweat.

-> It took me 2-3 minutes to reach the Palladium Entrance where from I heard the beast.

-> Totally exhausted me looks around with no signs of the beast around.

-> After catching my breath I asked the manager of valet parking about the R8 he nods positive & tells me that yeah he was here but never entered the parking.

-> Now I'm totally upset on myself for the decision of hunting the car in parking. Actually it was common sense.
stupid:

-> I go home & check out the pictures (All blurry, Skewed, boring)
Disappointed.

Camera

Samsung Corby Pro (3.2 mp) which I had bought just 15 minutes before spotting so couldn't fiddle with it & had no idea where the camera Application was. So it Failed the test on first day as it couldn't capture in low light & movement.
The skills of R8 tamer didn't allow me to take out my primary camera (Sony DSC HX1) out of my backpack. Even after taking out the camera I had to push in the battery as it was removed. (My Habit). Did put up the camera in a jiffy at mall but cldn't click a single picture as i missed the beast.

Other spottings of the same Audi
1) Near Lilawati Hospital, Bandra - R8 was in opposite lane & i had no camera.
2) I was clicking pictures of a Bimmer 750Li near 'On Toes' when the hottie zoomed past me without giving me a chance to click.
3) Zoomed passed Barista, Shivaji Park - I was on my cycle just roaming around without my camera.

I'm really excited about the response guys. Chasing for more than 4-5 years made me buy a camera few months back which couldn't catch a single beauty cause of my accident. I would love to share my such experiences & huntings here. I did track down lots of these girls in last few years & guess what i made detailed reports of the same (Many people think I am stupid cause of this but i'm sure i wont get the same response here). There are tons of Exotics & Muscles in town but the ownership is very elite thus hard to spot. I'm sure ill do whatever in my capability to contribute to the forum. Thanks a lot to the MODs for the membership.

So that is the car Speedy was telling me a while ago. Nice find buddy. It ain't beige color but Copper color. It is known as Audi R8 Copper Edition. :)

OMG!! im gonna eat that car right now!! that is simply the sexiest colour ive seen on an R8!! and joy of joys its in India!! hats off to the owners taste!! thats one hell'uva first post buddy!!

@ Scorcher - As i wrote Beige was the Upholstery color yaar :D & didnt knew the copper edition thingy i thought its Customized Golden Trim as they mentioned in there UK brochure. Thanks for correcting . . .

Yeah man i never get chance to unpack my primary cam for these beauties. clicked few more with the Corby so kinda getting used to blur. Clicked Sanjay Dutt's Fezza 599GTB while he himself was driving but the same thing total blur. He normally ends his sprints in an hour and returns the same way (via reclamation) but he didn't i kinda waited more than 2 hours for him to return as chasing a fezza down the western express on an Activa would be :uncontrol LoLzz....Herez the snap


I saw the Driver/owners face. He was driving the beast but not sure about the ownership.as the TBHP policy; No names. Just a clue that he married one of the hottest bollywood girl in town & owns something which is quite in talk these days.
Ohhh cmon that was kinda more than a clue anyone would guess now. I just could't keep this in my stomach.

Boy i have seen this car a million times at worli but each time there has been something wrong with the camera on the phone. This is one of the sweetest looking R8's i have seen and yes the escort car can be a pain sometimes. Finaly she has made it to the forum thanks to you. @97octane: Awesome pics mate! That's a super color for a supercar. Nice write up as well. Looks like there's a thing with Activas and exotics: Mine got to see a Maserati GT and an LP640 :D !

PS: Shoot vids while you're chasing next time on. There's nothing like the sight of watching an exotic rip through traffic :).

This car has an R-Tronic Transmission and not a manual one. This is the display car for the new Audi dealer in Mumbai, Audi Mumbai West.

I think I recognized the owner, If I'm not mistaken, he had a R8 which he reportedly sold for a used Gallardo coupe(Blue) very recently. His wife has a Arancio atlas Gallardo(maybe he bought the copper edition to match with the Lambo) and also have a white BFS.

So, My guess was correct. This is the car you told me. :)

Chase Videos, Hmmmm sounds good i did chase down the Parx supercar girls with videos & yeah Activa; gosh i'm gonna miss my baby....

I'm pretty sure i saw the metal stick & not the 'Flappy Pedal Gears' (JC's words for DCT Gears, LoLzzz i love that term), Some downshifts were rough & made sure the presence of clutch. Display car ? Naah never saw her at any "Mumbai West" showrooms. Its an unleashed beast for sure. Still no one can ever be sure about these beauties & there owners so kudos bud thanks for chipping in.

Ohhh yeah Perfect one buddy. The sold R8(V8) was grey with black side-blades. If i'm not wrong i spotted his Bentley Flying Spur (Alpine White) near his newly opened club in Bandra, Linking road. The arancio atlas Gallardo which was supposed to be an engagement gift was in media when 'she' showed the world the massive ring which he gifted. Aaj tak was like "Engagement Ring ke saath Sportscar free" lolzzz...hilarious stuff these people do.
