The R8 and the Lp dont look like wedding cars. The R8 looks like its just parked somewhere. The Lp Looks like its at a function but the couple just seem to be posing against it.

The R8 and LP are the cars in which the grooms showed up in, it wasn't just parked there. I don't think anyone will be rude enough to park their car on the red carpet at a wedding otherwise.

They didn't use it after the wedding, still, I think they can be termed as wedding cars.

Many weddings including my cousins, the front is carpeted and a few VIP cars including the car ferrying the Bride and Groom is parked there, does not make all of them wedding cars. That just convinient and close parking for VIPs. The cars are not even decorated so had a doubt.

re: Big-fat Indian wedding cars

Guys,

Posting this on behalf of a Cousin's friend. Someone he knows wants to rent a Rolls for a day or 2 for a wedding in his family. Probably to ferry his guests or Bride & groom. Can anyone please tell me what direction should i guide him to. There is no Such service here in Ahmedabad and they want this for Surat. So if anyone in Mumbai can share some information i can forward the same to him and he can take it from there on.

Thanks a lot & sorry for being OT. I know this isnt the thread for this, but since its wedding related cars, thought i better post here than starting a new thread.

Regards,

In my knowledge, the only car rental company in India which has a Rolls Royce (Ghost) in their fleet is Bangalore based (Ramesh Tours and Travels). The rent per day is 75-80k if I recall correctly. I could be wrong though, maybe there are some available up north too.

I don't think that it is illegal to drive LHD car in India. It is just that you cannot register them anymore when they arrive newly in India. Old LHD cars are driven, specially the classics, there is nothing to stop you provided your paperwork is in order.

Cars coming into India under a carnet can be LHD and can be driven across the country, subject to the provisions, mostly a constraint on the period for which a car can stay in India under a carnet.

Therefore, I feel that there is no difficulty to drive a LHD car in India, it is not illegal.

Cheers harit
