Nissan GT-R 35 upgrade build by Racetech India

Hi fellow teambhpians ,

We would like to share one of our most loved cars the Nissan GTR R35.

Eversince its introduction the stock GTR R35 has surprised even the most prepared enthusiast.

The R35 has created new following and strengthened the cult, the stock car as you all know is a quick car to say the least.

However its tuning capability is extraordinary and very friendly, two terms which you usually dont see together.

It was a matter of time that car enthusiasts from India get a GTR for themselves and GTR they did get.

We would like to share one..

This GTR owner wanted his car to sound better and have more power.

The GTR in stock form sounds ... frankly speaking hugely understated.

We decided to go with a valvetronic exhaust system which has the advantage of being very loud when you wish and at the flick of a button quiet as stock.

The old exhaust weighs quite a bit

We have also deleted the secondary catalytic converters, releasing up some power and reducing weight quite a bit
, new midpipe ready to go in

The ecu was remapped and couple with the secondary cat delete and exhaust gave a noticable bump in torque and hp.

We did a complete service and upgraded the transmission and differential oils this delivered a stock clutch feel, the gearbox noise reduced substanitally and operating temperatures dropped an average of 7 to 10 deg celcius compared to stock oil. The best news though is that the wear rate of the gearbox was slowed over 150 times by reducing the metal/metal contact of the gears.

OLD Drain Bolt, quite a bit of resude

All cleaned up good to back in

Thread moved from the Assembly Line to the public forum.

Thanks for sharing, Racetech! Your tuned Maserati was one of the better sounding cars at the Supercar show earlier this year....really violent and sporty. I can only imagine what this GTR must be like.

Can you please elaborate? Do you mean only in terms of electronics, or mechanical bits as well?

That is just awesome flexibility. There are times when one wouldn't want a loud-sounding car.

Those are some sweet modifications you've done to the mighty GTR! The stock exhausts itself sound so good but the Kreissieg exhausts just take it to a whole new level. So what's the 0-100 and quarter mile?

@Unknownsatan...the video of a similar GTR with the same exhaust have been uploaded by Ractech here:

Re: Nissan GTR 35 upgrade build by Racetech India

There is a similar Racetech tuned R35 GTR in Hyderabad, Check out the beautiful sound of the exhausts towards the end of this video.

Racetech, could you elaborate the mods on this particular R35 GTR ?

Thank you GTO , we try as much as we can to meet upto customer requests, the Maserati is an aural treat pure V8 NA audio clip for those who missed http://www.facebook.com/v/105332216166397

The GTR is completely different , ideally you would want both

Primarily electronics and then mechanical to a fair degree. We always encourge all our customers to understand and be a part of the build .. tuning , installing , the R35 projects the above in a simpler GUI.

This gives us better feedback from them, which in turn helps us give them close to what they desire.

Its a practical approach , got a phone call or in a quiet neighbourhood , flick a switch or dab a button and your car sounds pretty close to stock.

Great work guys ! Nice to see Indian workshops handling such import to successfully perform upgrades.

If this is the same car that is spotted in Bandra often then I'll vouch for it's sound. It is L-O-U-D ! But much for my taste but as long as the owner is happy; its a job well done

Is there a noticable drop in power when on the soft setting?
What does Kreissieg claim is the power (up from stock), as well as the power difference between soft/loud settings?
Have you dynod the car on either / both settings to compare?

Hi Rehaan

No noticable drop in power when you switch between the two setting.
Kreissieg does not give any power figures.

No 4WD dyno's :(

I love the GTR and everything about this beauty in the beast.

That residue on the drain bolt is surprising.

Maybe this one needs Detergent based oil next service.

I am just curios to know about the oil that was used to lower the temp.

I have seen a few of these on track here in Oz that stock sound does need an
upgrade.

The GT-R in HYD sounds out of this world!! Is this one running the same exhaust as well?

Stock GTR has quite some areas to improve, we try and make sure reliability is given priority over performance.

What you see is mostly due to high temp's and insufficient surface protection, we have seen similar cases in cars with very few kms on them.

The oil is a custom blend which provides an extra film between the meshing gears , protecting the gear against wear and also reducing temps.

I was under the impression that Red Rooster had 4 packs for their hub dyno - but i think i was mistaken. They seem to only have two.

Finding an all wheel drive dyno facility is no easy task, and Mr. Singh once again proved his unwavering determination by immediately initiating the import of India’s first all wheel dyno!
