Based on the info on Kawiforums, the stepped seat is a direct lift from the 250R and surely a photo(chop)shop image. Being a designer myself I can surely make out the lighting as well as the non-linear angle with which the back has been cut out and pasted on to the original 650R image.

Mostly the 2012 650R's will have better braking and tweaks to the engine torque parameters. Rest all remains the same.

Considering the product life-cycle, the newer ninja was launched in 2010 and these can be seen on the web and a change in bodywork is surely not on the cards.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 650R : Test Ride & Review

Hey Guys,

Does any one have any updates on the delivery timelines for the 1st batch ? As per my sources they would start rolling it out in just about 2 weeks. Can somebody confirm this news ?

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 650R : Test Ride & Review

Went to the probiking showroom in IndiraNagar and fell in love with the 650R.

My Wifey wasnt amused when I asked the showroom manager, about the cost and booking amount. The manager wouldnt even discuss finance options since the booking is closed. I am not even sure if I can afford the 650R nor the shortcomings of not having a garage at home, but I am in Love.

Officials claim that these are the first in the country.
They made us pose, took pics, gave gifts and made us talk to the VP.
Pics below, more later

Congrats bikefreak, there claim of these being very firsts seems to be pretty true as any other major town is yet to see any delivery, even in Delhi the first deliveries are planned for the 18th of this month.

Congrats Bikefreak and Speedfreak. Enjoy your new bikes (Boy's toys) and also ride safe. Do post more photographs and an initial ownership review as soon as you have some spare time from your bikes.

Congrats Bikefreak & Speedfreak. I think the Indian version does not have the strap on the seat. Or is it that Kawasaki has removed it in the 2011 version? Can you please confirm?

Abhinav, I'm glad you put the money down immediately after we spoke. You had waited it out to settle only for something perfect and the 650R is only going to reward your patience.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 650R : Test Ride & Review

Hi,
Does anyone know of the ease/ difficulty/ ridiculousness etc. of converting the ER6f to a ER6n? Or something similar looking.

Regards

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 650R : Test Ride & Review

Thanks guys.

Actually I got it from the showroom and parked it in my garage - rode only about 6 kms !
Have not taken it out after that for numerous reasons:
- Incessant rains
- Had 4 parties and 1 conference this weekend
- Excessive police checking of bikes all around thanks to the blasts! (no number on the bike). Although my number has come & I'll put it today.

Anyway, my inital impressions:
- Bike is very easy to ride. Fells like a pulsar with a lot more power
- Bike is heavier on paper than my preivous R1 & cbr 954s, but surprisingly it seems lighter and easier to handle. Probably because of low CG, low seat height & high torque ?
- Exhaust note is disappointing (as expected), slightly better at higher revs.
- Does not grab as many eyeballs as my previous bikes, but I can live with that

More pics and ownership reports after I get to take it out.

@blackpearl - No, there is no strap on the seat.

As long as the chassis geometry is the same (rake, trail, wb), it should be a straigtforward exercise.

F is fairing and N is naked right?
