Not a very good time to hike price IMO
agreed , specially given the stability in foreign exchange . They should have waited till next year in my opinion .

Woah ! Even Bonnie is 35K more than what I paid for it

Triumph after launching their products in India ; slashed their prices once and now they are taking it back up to same levels

I think they should have waited until after Diwali to do this (Not that buyers in this segment will really care about a 30-40k hike or slash, but moolah saved is moolah earned)

Bad Move !!!

Agree totally it is a bad move. I guess their sales success has been so good (in pune alone more than 50 bikes sold since launch of dealership in may, might be the same case across other cities as well) that triumph has got its head in the clouds and upped the prices all over the country. Hope they dont overdo this as it might earn them a bad name......they still need to firmly establish themselves as regards service quality and costs in the long run.

+1. I wanted to say the same thing but, refrained as Iam already dubbed as Triumph ambassador on forum

Triumph has really hit the jackpot and any customer after riding "any" of their products will be hard-pressed to look at their competition as their entire range is unbeilevably sweet. Just they need to contain or relook their pricing model if they wish to attract more customers

Hope this success doesnt go to their heads and just focus on giving us continued best service

Heartbroken with this announcement

Paul Stroud, Triumph's director of sales and marketing, said: “Following a review we have placed the 250cc bike project on hold for strategic reasons relating to its specific segment. During an exciting period for the brand, Triumph continues to invest and expand its model line-up and enter new markets, as demonstrated with our successful launches into Brazil and India. Through our expanding market presence and model offer we will continue to evolve our product range to reinforce our position as a premium motorcycle manufacturer and answer the requirements and demands of a global motorcycle audience with exciting and innovative products.”

Spied in UK is a new variant of the Street Triple. It gets the rear seat/fairing from the Daytona and painted wheels , but the rest of it is standard Street Triple R ( we don't get that in India yet, only the standard Street Triple ).

Triumph to launch the Thunderbird LT on 18th September.

Quote:
Triumph Motorcycles India has announced the arrival of a new member to its family that will be launched on 18th September in the country. The new model is the Thunderbird LT (Light Touring) motorcycle and will be joining the iconic British manufacturer’s illustrious product portfolio. Already retailing 11 products in India across different segments, the Triumph Thunderbird LT promises to be high on retro appeal, coupled with a modern heart to make for hassle free journeys.
The Triumph Thunderbird LT was first showcased at the 2013 EICMA at Milan and is based on the Thunderbird Commander cruiser. The Thunderbird LT sits below the Commander variant and gets a completely old school retro appeal to boast off. Differentiating the cruiser from the bigger Storm are the triple headlights, pillion backrest, leather saddle bags with 21-litres of storage capacity and a touring windscreen. The bike gets oodles of chrome with twin chrome exhausts that only add to the old school appeal of the motorcycle.
In terms of powertrain, the Thunderbird LT draws from the same 1699cc engine from the Storm that produces 94 PS of power at 5400 RPM and 151 Nm of torque at 3550 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties on the other hand are performed by 47 mm forks up front, while the rear gets twin shocks with 5-way preload adjustment, both coming from Showa. Furthermore, Triumph claims to equip the Thunderbird with the world’s first white walled tyres on a production motorcycle.
Stopping power on the Thunderbird LT comes from twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake setup at the rear, while ABS system is available as standard. The high performance cruiser also gets a classic analogue styled instrument console with a LCD MID unit, while the tank capacity has been restricted to 22-litres.
Set to launch next week, the Triumph Thunderbird LT will be competing against a bunch of Harley’s in the same space range, being a retro styled cruiser at a reasonable price range. The cruiser is most likely to be brought in as a CBU, and will thus attract a rather steep pricing courtesy of the import duties. The Thunderbird LT is expected to come with a price tag of around Rs. 13 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) when launched, and will be the 12th motorcycle to be a part of Triumph India’s lineup.

That's one sweet looking bike. Especially the Triple headlights. Looks very Harley'ish.

On this LT model, for the retro cruiser style I agree the spoke wheels blend well with the bike, but for touring practicality & with absence of center stand, I would prefer alloy wheels with tubeless tires. Anyways the price is tempting and the bike looks fabulous . Just that aam janatha may at times compliment you with the comment 'Nice Harley'
