I love dual sports and Tiger is a good option but at the moment beyond my budget. Till then will dream of KLR 650

How does she compare on the road in terms of performance with Ninja 650. I know that the specs wise, this 675cc is high in power and torque compared to Ninja 650R. I tried searching for youtube videos, couldnt find any. The price of a Ninja is just 4.5 lacs which is nearly 2.5 lacs less than Daytona and much lesser than the speed-triple.

I think the Ninja 650R is not a direct competitor of the Daytona. The ZX 6r is the more direct competitor - part of the 600cc super sport class which also includes CBR600RR, Yamaha R6 and Suzuki GSXR 600. But yes, the daytona with 675 cc is a slight cheater just like earlier zx6R which had 636cc.

Hence the price difference and also the difference in power figures.

Daytona a cheater? But it is down on one cylinder. So it is even now. However, perofrmance -wise I doubt if it can match ZX6R/CBR600RR/R6.

Lovely bikes here by Triumph. I prefer the Bonneville with its retro looks!! These are all manufactured close to my office here in Bangkok.

Re: Triumph Motorcycles @ Auto Expo 2012

Not sure about Daytona but its younger sibling Street Triple kicked CBR600 in straight race and it was faster than CBR till 200 kmph mark even though the rider was not very experianced, can be seen in youtube, he was not accelrating the bike till redline still he was able to defeat CBR.
Seeing Daytona's track capability and more power i am sure it will be kick@$$ bike on street, track even on highways compared to other 600 inline 4 japs.
Its down by one cylinder but low and mid range torque which matters for us is there in Daytona, and how many of us are going to do over 200 mark.
Tommy forget Ninja650 twin, search for Street Triple vs CBR600

Tommie

I am reposting a link I had posted before in the Triumph threads in TBHP

Even some big names in Japan MC community acknowledged Daytona in 2009 when the biggest Japanese magazine ‘Motorcyclist’ selected it as the bike of the year

Re: Triumph Motorcycles @ Auto Expo 2012

Hello fellow BHPians,

I've got two Triumph Classic in Dubai, a 2009 Scrambler and a 2009 Thruxton.

I've attached photos of both these bikes.

I've joined the forum recently and I'm learning the ropes.

Regards,

BB

Welcome onboard Team BHP. You have 2 good beauties in your stable. Do share some details or better still open a thread yourself to keep us updating regularly on their performance, thrills and misses part of it.

Did you buy both of them brand new at the same time? Both are 2009 model hence my question

Mahesh,

Just for your info

Joji is good friend and an authority on Triumphs in particular and British bangers in general.

I had posted the bike pictures in my thread earlier.

Scrambler was bought new in Dubai and the Thruxton was bought from US and restored in Dubai. Scrambler is 2009 and I think the Thruxton as well. That Thruxton - its a real mover

Yes Joji start your own thread but it should be "Bikes of Joji" and put in the pictures of the other 8 you have stored in Pune

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe
