Its a N650 thread buddy. You are more than welcome to contribute.

PRS does have stock of R&G frame sliders available last i checked. You can get it shipped to bangalore like I did. Tank pads are available here with the Yamaha showroom opposite Forum mall (he stocks DSG and PRS stuff and can also get anything from either of their catalogues for you to Bangalore).

Sorry for the noob question, do you mean this site http://www.performanceracing.in when you refer to PRS? Have you fitted the sliders? pics?

Is it this one - http://www.performanceracing.in/Prod...nja-650-r.aspx - This is the only 650 frame slider i see on PRS but by looking at the pics it does not seem the right one for 2012 650 ?

Did a down payment of of 3 Lakhs today at KTM Mysore for the N650, I was told the bike will arrive by 15th of next month. Surprisingly today evening I got a call from the KTM Mysore manager, he informed me that the bike is already in transit and will be mine by next weekclap:. I am already flying.

@all :- Any one who seriously wants to own a N650 should get it from Mysore.

@n_aditya :- Are the frame sliders and tank pads available in Bangalore or online?

Hi RBP, can you let us know a little bit more about how you managed to get the bike from mysore? Did you get the temporary registration done in Mysore and you are planning to get the actual registration in Bangalore? Please let us know the details.

Also, any news of the Ninja coming in Black?

I still haven't got the bike, hopefully by this weekend. You can call 0821 2333393. This is the KTM Mysore number. The TR will be done in Mysore and the actual registration will be handled by KTM Bangalore guys. So I will be doing all the payment in Mysore and these guys will send the documents to KTM Bangalore for registration, I will need to take the bike once to the showroom in Bangalore for registration.

No black Ninja. I would still prefer the green Ninja as maintaining black color is painful.

My brother is looking for N650. In Chennai, Already some 150 people are in Queue.
If N650 is still avaiable in Mysore, I can ask my brother to check it immediately.
Please do share the contacts.

Just got a call from Probiking, Meerut that a 650 has arrived for a test drive. It is also available for immediate delivery if I want to. Will check it out soon....

Finally checked out the bike at Bajaj Probiking, Meerut. They have 'hidden' it in their godown so that it does not get mishandled and show it to only very serious customers. The owner told me that this particular bike was immediately available, if I wanted it, as the person for whom it was bought in, wants to take delivery during Navratras, and so he can give this bike to me immediately. Ex showroom is 5.04L. No 7.5% finance scheme available. They had a scheme of about 9.5% for 3 years financing (on 4.2L, EMI about 15164/-, which was working quite costly, even more than SBI).

Bike looks really big in flesh and photos don't do justice. The owner also offered me the Left rear grab rail for free (after I remove the hideous saree guard).

Thinking...

Just spoke to PRS Mumbai and they do not have the 2012 Ninja 650 sliders yet, these are on order and expected in a week's time.

They are getting a complete Akrapovic exhaust for one of the customers. its about 60K plus :Shockked:. Anybody fitted one yet? Didn't find much on the net.

Please do post pics once you fit the sliders on your bike.

Safe rides

Leaving aside the weight difference & power gain, in the sound department I personally dont think the Akrapovic makes any major statement on this parallel twin.

Here is a ER6N..so this should be something similar

Narula, congrats on the Ninja 650! Wish you many safe journeys in your new bike.

One of my friend is looking to buy the Ninja and had a small ride on his cousin's 2012 Ninja, since it was in the run-in period, he couldn't take it beyond 4k rpm so cameback rather disappointed, he felt the Monster 795 was more exciting to drive.
I don't think you've crossed the 1600km mark, but what are your thoughts on the performance of the bike ?

Weight issues apart,is it possible for a short person (5'6.5") to ride this bike ?

I took a look at the 650 last week and found the height ok. Its similar to the 250's surprisingly IIRC.

With more power on tap from the V-twin and better sounding exhaust note, the monster does seem more exciting to ride. Its more 'raw' than the Ninja. The Ninja is very clinical but powerful at the same time. Ex-i4 owners may find it underpowered, but us lesser mortals dare not utter such words. Do tell your friend, that when it comes to the cost of maintenance, the Ducati will eat him alive without a burp. With the mentioned height, reaching the ground with your feet shouldn't be an issue, though Im not too sure on that.
