8 to 10 bikes will be reaching them in first week of november.
I am loosing interest day after day. Now getting inclined towards 3 and 4 pot motor bikes. I seriously wish honda launches cbr600.

Congrats bro. This is the most balanced bike in my opinion, quite fast, reliable, comfortable and easy on the pocket. I miss my 650 :-( .. here is the link to my thread - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/superb...a-650r-ex.html

Narula, Rbp,
Heartiest congratulations on your respective rides. This is one big bike that makes absolute sense in India. I've got my eyes on this bike and plan to get it next year, so I will be closely following this thread.

Wish you all many, many miles of thrills on the bike.

Cheers

Hey rbp,

Congrats. Do check the standard PDI list which includes all electricals and mechanical equipment & fluid levels.
As you are upgrading from a smaller bike, please be wary of the power before whacking that throttle open. She caught me by surprise on the first ride.

The frame sliders and tank pad are yet to go on since Sunday came with its share of rain showers. Plus I am waiting for the spare mirror to reach the dealer from the plant so that I can get all the work done in one go. Hopefully, this weekend shall bring good news.

Did you manage to source the sliders & the pad?

I wish the CBR 600F comes soon and at a sensible price. Triumph has disappointed severely with their strategy and planning. God knows how reliable their service will be. The Street Triple is a fab bike and worth the wait. Hope they dont mess up the pricing. Good luck with that nonsensical draw. Hope you get the bike soon.

Re: The Green Assassin - My 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650

After a night ride yesterday, I realised that the headlights are pathetic. Maybe I am spoilt by my 220s projectors or whatever but the brightness is really bad with the high beam being pathetic to say the least. Its ok on well-lit roads but come rain or a dark patch and your eyes are straining to spot potholes in the beam.

The plan now is to go in for Philips HIDs on the low beam and a Philips Xtreme Vision bulb on the high beam (reason being HIDs on high beam make flashing useless due to the Xenon's charging time).

Philips has H7 bulb HIDs with approx. 6000 lumens available. Someone suggested that 6000 lumens will be a pain in the fog with the light beam not being able to penetrate the fog. Similar case will happen on the hills. So they recommended the 4200 lumen version which sadly is not available in the market anymore.
Any thoughts on this? Will the 6000 be fine & escape cops' attention?
Oh and a twin bulb set is costing 7500 bucks in B'lore.

As for the left mirror, its still not reached the dealer from the BAL factory because apparently BAL goofed up when ordering the part for the 2012 model. They invoiced it in a new part name but got the 2011 model instead which though similar looking is not as effective as the new one.

She is home

The Green Assassin - My 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650-dsc_9484.jpg

Rode her all the way from Mysore, I had to take a lengthy route due to the Cauvery issue. But the route was scenic and beautiful, the Ninja kept everyone on the road hooked on to her, she is such a beauty, from front most think it is a Fazer, but as soon as they see her from side on, boy, you should see their expressions. Maybe a 100 villagers told me the headlight is on, I kept nodding my head, whenever they informed me about it.

Route

Mysore -> KR Nagar -> Chennraypatna -> Kunigal -> Nelmangala -> BLR

Total distance around 250+ kms.

I will post more in the ownership thread.

@Narula:- I agree the headlights are pathetic, it should improve if the alignment is corrected.

I asked the ktm lady yesterday, she said, she receives more inquiries for the 650 then the Duke 200. As of nothing is confirmed, I would say keep bugging them.

Brakes are nothing great as of now, waiting to clock a few more kms, then will give a definite answer.

As for mileage she delivered somewhere around 20 kmpl.

Always on, thats why I mentioned villagers kept reminding me of the headlight. It is DRL as in US.
