Back with some updates on the 954. Came back to Mumbai for an additional 3 weeks leave on request. Spent quality time with the 954 over the weekend. Met blackrival TBHP n XBHP member and his 954 too. Did couple of sprints and test rode it and below are the observations and the action taken so far in the (brackets)

1)Badly needs a tune and TB Sync.
2)Injector cleaning
3)Rear Tyre has multiple leaks, so needs a new one. (ordered new 190/50)
4)Spare key needs to be programmed (Programed a new key)
5)Chain is over stretched and needs replacement. (bought DID 530 Chain)
6)TPS Sensor needs to be centered. (Repositioned and checked the proper voltage output)
7)Still need to check the sprockets if worn out. (already have a set in spare)

Added swing arm spools and on the other hand left side bar end weight got stolen today and need to put a new one now.

Major addition remains an aftermarket slipon exhaust.

Done with the servicing and other stuff replacement, and fixed the TBR exhaust also.
TPS issue was sorted and TB was cleaned. Issue found and its was the nasty FPR which is bound to go bad on a 11 year old Bike.

It's highly recommended to change both the sprockets (front and rear) along with the chain. This ensures even wear and tear and longer life of both parts.

Done the same and changed the sprockets too.

FPR issue should be sorted by tomorrow hopefully, FPR retails in the US for appx 100 USD and found one in Opera house today for 3.5K . Good thing about honda SBK's is that they sahre a lot of common parts with the older civic prelude accord and CRX. RK Motors in Opera had this part of the 93 Accord.

How do you rate the headlamps on the 954RR? Of all the sportbikes, I read only Hondas make their headlamps usable and not just for cursory compliance.

Also, what sort of fuel consumption/tankful-to-low-fuel-warning range do you get ?

From all the bikes owned and ridden till date 954 has the best illumination. Very much usable, low beam is always on and the high beam is powerful too.
On the fuel consumption part, the 954 has the inbuilt KMPL feature on the display and highest mileage i got on 175 KM ride this Sunday was 17 KMPL

Spotted your bike at Kamat's this Sunday. Must say it looks really nice. There were a lot of superbikes over there but your bike stood out. We were on our way to Pawna for Team-Bhp Mega meet and had stopped there for regrouping

Back with some major updates and developments on the 954.
Was suffering with the same low end hickups and unstable idle as Manson was, met him and found out the intake valves has no clearance at all needed to be adjusted and shims need to be replaced. Immediately rushed to Johnny and ask him to do it up and get rid of the silly issue below 2K rpm. On checking the clearance, intake valves had zero clearance and he 1st cylinder was backfiring instead of sucking air. Have a look at the pics of the throttle body. He did a good job and fixed the valves.
Got the bike back from him and it behaved liked

at cold start and the RPM would dance like 500+/- , figures out one of the header is not getting heated at all on cold start, could be the plug or the coil. Replaced the plugs and coils and it was like heaven to ride the bike again. at the time of replacing the plugs I found that the MAP sensor was not connected to the correct vacuum line. Usually its connected to the top of the 5 pin connected which connects to each of the cylinder. Instead of being connected to the center line the MAP was connected to 4th cylinder vacuum line only. Corrected the lines immediately. So this chapter of idle struggle and low rpm juddering closes here.
Now comes the another problem, battery started giving up on me.Bike would not turn on after getting heated. thought its the rectifier or the stator being burnt, did some multimeter tests and found its the battery. Still have to get a new YTZ10S or the YTZ12S as soon as I get back to India in May.
Did almost 1000 KMS plus in the last 1.5 months. Also did some wax polishing and added the adjustable levers. Some pics of the bike after polish and my son enjoying on it.

With the end of the riding season we did some small and some long rides. Few pics attached from a short ride. Notice the riding gear, first pic in the thread me in complete gearing.
Meanwhile was feeling some low rpm jerkiness and slipping clutch. Got the plates replaced and she flies now.
Spent quality time and energy to clean it after a dirty raining ride.
