Re: 2012 Ninja 650 : The Green Goblin

Congrats on your dream bike, have booked myself one, for my Birthday as well

Could you kindly let us know which bike of your friends did you ride for 1000kms? Kindly also give it's pro's and cons (out of curiosity)

Also, which other super-bikes have you ridden?

Whose garage is that with the duke, N250, N650, etc? Nice collection of bikes

The group pic with a gt650, n650, duke and the n250 was during one of my casual meets with friends. These guys are my close touring buds. Infact best buds I met through the biking brotherhood

The white GT650 in the back is the one that I rode for over 1000 kms in 2 days.

Pros and cons of GT :

1. It has RAW power. (like it or hate it kind of power)
2. After say some 6k or so RPM, it gets a jolt and the bike just starts pulling and pulling. This is where most people get scared of the bike.
3. Riding position is good for short distances but not for touring really.
4. Quality isn't superbike like. Quality could have been better.
5. vibrations are a a little on the higher side for a v twin.
6. Looks are something that I like. Looks are subjective though.
7. suspension is not designed for cornering. Period.
8. All the spares are pricey.

Can't really think of more. Will update if I can recollect some out of the place experiences with the GT.

Coming to the bikes I've ridden till date. : 2006-07 CBR1000RR. 08 R1, 2010 r1 crossplane, MT-01, GSX-750, GT-650, Kawasaki ZX14R and now the Ninja 650.

Thanks for the info, well appreciated.

Thats an awesome collection of bikes you have ridden , the most powerful bike I have ridden is the Kawasaki 250, I am sure the N650 won't disappoint.

Note from Support - Please avoid quoting an entire post as it inconveniences our mobile and small screen users. Thanks!

If you like the 250, you will love the 650. Mark my words. The kawasaki character has been polished even more and injected into the 650. The power delivery is something which is unlike the 250. 250 has mid to high power band. 650 has low to mid.

Congratulations!

You got yourself a deal. Wishing you miles of happiness.

That sticker on your 250R made me remember the best friend I made online.

Cheers

Hah, don't ever worry about bank balance when you buy something you love . The coffers will fill up soon, i'll tell you that much.

They indeed are. It's not a huge track but its a fairly big gokart track that we used it for laps. The avg timing on the lap was around 42 seconds on a ninja 250 and dukes so imagine the size based on that. We rented the track for a couple of hours, did some warmup n practice runs to familiarize and judge the track and then a best of 3 lap timing run. It was fun!

Sems similar to the one we use in Pune for the Orange Days, where the really fast guys do 36-37s, the fast guys do 38-39s, and the rest of the "average" timings are 40-45s.

This one is bigger than that. The fastest on this track was 40.0 done by a pro. So u can estimate the size of it. This track has too many corners. Only one straight on which n650 did 118kmph max!

Re: 2012 Ninja 650 : The Green Goblin

Hello guys,

I had recently booked my Ninja 650 and I'm getting the delivery in 5 days. I live in Jaipur and have no place where I can get aftermarkets for the Ninja 650. Actually, my booking is the first in Jaipur since the 2012 version was released. It would be a great help if anyone can point me in the right direction about where I can get aftermarkets like sliders, screen, exhaust, etc.
Also, I could use a new lid and new riding gear. Any help will be great.

Thanks guys
