This one is an exception as most SBKs do not have a centre stand.
.

The CBR600F is the classic alround machine. In Europe, a lot of these all-round middle weight's have centre stands. Makes things a lot easier for the DIY rider.

They have to use an external stand.
I presume you mean a side stand.

And v1p3r, those are the stock calipers. They are not floating. The CBR600RR comes with USD forks and radial brakes (on the updated RR's). The regular CBRF came with RSU forks.

well all the cbr f series have had centre stands all through as they are the tourer bike and not the race ready series. isn't it the same with the kawasaki zzr series? rtech?

Need not always be the case Manson. The CBR's sold in US had the main stand as an option. I'm sure it was that way for many places in Europe as well. Most ZZR's did have the main stand, however many came without it and it was available as a paid option.

hey kudos to your friend for taking care of his baby that well ..
these cbr600f are user friendly bikes as they fall into the category of sport tourers and not the out n out sport bikes ....
@tazz rules : how much did he shell out to get it to india .... and did he went through a dealer or did it himself ... i presume that the deal would be on the higher side as the bike is from london ....
thanks in advance ..
cheerz..

Cool bike. I have seen an All black colour scheme & somehow I liked that one better than this combo. But yes the bike has been well kept & maintained.

Hehe even I would have loved it with the Stock can

The CBR F series came with main stands.
Mine has one too.
Big advantage if u want to leave your bike parked in an attended place for some time.
Invariably someone is bound to want to sit on it, especially kids, and if it is on a side stand, there is a chance of it falling on the other side !!

I do not think it is very simple for u to put a main stand on a busa or a r1 or a 10r for that matter as they r track bikes and hence low.
The main stand would also interfere with acute cornering.

By 'external stand', I think he meant the one which is on rollers and lifts the rear wheel (like on race tracks)

BTW, TAZZ, these pics must be quite old as I doubt any area around Mumbai would be so green at this time of the year.
The bike is HOT for sure !!

@bikefreak; If I'm not mistaken, that pic was taken in Vasai itself; that background reminds me of one of the inner-roads of Vasai; And pal, it's all green here THROUGHOUT the year, summer or not...

I dont know if center stands are optional on Blackbirds, but here's one which was parked in my building on center stand :

Also check this thread too. Has pics of a similar CBR600F in black. That too has a center stand.

Centre Stand Theory!!!

Most SPORT TOURER's come with centre stand as a Standard Option.. I had it on my Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat too.. Only the SUPER SPORTS dont have it...
