Suzuki launches the V-Strom in the Indian market at Rs 14.5 lakhs ex-shw Delhi

This makes it slightly more expensive than the Triumph Tiger (approx 14 odd OTR Bangalore) but a whole lot cheaper than the Triumph Explorer XC, BMW GS1200 and the Aprilia Caponord.

With the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 priced at 12.5 lakhs ex-showroom does the V-Storm still make a better buy for India? Specially considering that the Suzuki makes lesser power than the Kwacker (99 PS vs 142 PS) and the Kawasaki comes with traction control and power modes.

Agreed that while the Ninja 1000 is a sports tourer, the V-Storm is an adventure bike with a better go-anywhere capability. Still in the Indian scheme of things, which one makes more sense to you?

Lets see if Kawasaki launches the Versys 1000 here.

You said exactly what was going on in my mind while reading this post. The Versys 1000 is supposed to be launched at the same price as the Z1000/Ninja1000 and makes for an excellent proposition at that price point.
Although I genuinely feel these bikes make more sense in the Indian context, with so many varied regions to tour and touring being our national sport anyway when it comes to motorcycling.

P.S. There is a typo in the model name you've mentioned. Its V-Strom. (Nitpicking, if you ask me. stupid: )
