It appears as if the country's first Ducati Panigale 1199R has just reached our shores. :D

Here's the import information:

Does anyone have any idea about where the bike is going?

Just attaching a few pictures of a Ducati Panigale 1199R I got from Ducati's website. (Not the exact one that came down to India!)

I am not going to blur out the faces as the picture has been posted on a public page on FB.

Very nice, the full red just looks mean, though I prefer the white & red combo on the 899 but still Ducati did an excellent job with the bikes given the praise they've been getting from the reviewers world over. I'm guessing the OTR was somewhere between ₹.25 - 30 lakhs.

Posting a screenshot of the update by Supercars and bikes in Bangalore Facebook page.

One more pic of the 1199 Panigale from Facebook.

Due credits to the photographer for this posting this picture of the Panigale.

WOW! this temple is near my house and cannot believe this bike is in the same locality. Hope to see it someday during our morning breakfast rides.

Got to see and feel the bike, seen at the Triumph showroom, they had come to attend the BFI meet.

Bike is simply gorgeous, jaw droppingly beautiful, the LED head lamps, the exquisite tail lamp..... Those exhausts....

WoW!! a 1199R in Bangalore. It must have cost a fortune as in "tax free Dubai" itself, the bike retails at approx. 20 lakhs INR. Thumbs up to the brave owner!!:thumbs up

But I don't understand the point of having such a fast and track oriented bike in India unless you frequently do track days. I have ridden 1199s and that itself was bloody fast and too powerful for me to handle.:D

Minor correction, its costs upwards of 26 lacs on road in UAE.
The bike itself costs around 24, safe to assume was around 55-60 lacs+ in Bangalore.:D

Congrats to the lucky chap. clap:

And the bike cost a princely 61L according to SCBB!

But the import price says 14.6L. How on earth did the price quadruple? I expected it to perhaps hit the 35L mark. But 61!

Bike costs 30,000 $ which is INR 1,800,000/-.
137% duty will be 2,500,000/-. So that together itself is around 4,200,000/-
Take some extra charges, shipping etc i am guessing it may come around 50. Since its exclusive bike they might have paid some premium to get it. Tax and registration etc !!

how is the duty 137%??

just checked out the custom website which still claims the import duty is STILL 100%. plus additional taxes (like cess n bla bla) comes to about 12.75%

so makes the bike about 31 odd lacs landed. add to it the RTO n insurance - so i guess it would be somewhere between 35-40
