Re: Zee comes home - My 2014 Kawasaki Z800

Got lowering kit installed @Ray's tuned garage. Thanks Neil.Jericho for reference. Raymond is quite knowledgeable and knows exactly what he is doing. Seems authorized Kawasaki cbu service guy's were not knowing how to fit lowering kit and asked me to check with ktm service centre .

I guess seat height is reduced by 30mm.

After installing the kit, i rode for over 140KM and following are observations with my limited riding skills.
* Bike is lot more nimble/more flickable and quick direction changes are much easier.
* Less effort required for counter steering. Earlier i used to feel weight but now i feel like bike's weight is reduced by a good number.
* I need not tip toe anymore and now its easier to ride in city traffic.
* GC has reduced a bit but i did not scrape bottom like silencer on medium sized speed breaker though i am a bit more careful now.

I don't know what all could be negative of installing it though.

Djay, just read through the entire thread and enjoyed reading every bit of it. Zee looks great and IMHO better with the fly screen.

Re: Zee comes home - My 2014 Kawasaki Z800

Congratulations Djay! I have been following your ownership thread for a while and the one from TheCelestial as well. Absolutely loved the write-ups from both of you. I have booked a green/black Z800 for myself, and am set to get the delivery by the 25th of this month. I fell in love with the bike as soon as I took a test ride. I hope to see you on some ride in the near future!

Re: Zee comes home - My 2014 Kawasaki Z800

Work and travel had kept me away from riding. Today went on a 160KM ride and had lot of fun. Was riding mostly in a relaxed manner with occasional speeds over ton mark. Got combined FE of 20.6KMPL which i feel is good FE.

Have started recording using SJ4000 action cam which i got couple of months back.
Will upload video shortly.

Re: Zee comes home - My 2014 Kawasaki Z800

Sorry for hijacking the thread. Can anybody please update me with the On Road price of the Z800 in Mumbai/Pune after the INR 50,000 slash?

Re: Zee comes home - My 2014 Kawasaki Z800

I do not have the breakup, but the On-road price in Mumbai (MH-02) comes upto 8.68L inclusive of the price-cut, insurance, registration etc.

@dotz_13 - Congrats buddy. Pls do post your opinion and what made you consider z800 considering the expensive maintenance affair that comes with this premium product OVER striple ?

fyi : i love kawasaki too, but thought the annual maintenance was towards high side.

Re: Zee comes home - My 2014 Kawasaki Z800

I think is this bike is a major hit. My office is very near Kawasaki pune showroom & I am almost daily seeing 2-3 bikes coming from factory and getting shipped. Few day's back the basement was full with 10 + zee's parked in a row and it was beautiful view. Next time I can try to post few pictures.

If I am not wrong it is currently outselling other all other Kawasaki bikes. I am now tempted to take test drive to understand why they are selling in such numbers.
