Re: My Mean Green 2015 Kawasaki Z800

Bike looks great, congratulations and wish you safe and happy miles on it

Kawasaki is getting some new design language onto its bikes, placing he head light lower to give it a hunched feel

Its very attractive and a rare piece of machinery, be ready for all kinds of questions from other road users

Looks like a daily rider too, cannot see why you can't have this as the only bike in your garage and ride it everywhere

OT - Cannot stop myself from mentioning how my Brother and myself used to have fun pulling the legs of other riders. On our day, if we had seen you on the road, we would have pulled up close and asked "Boss, where did you modify this FZ?" Just kidding. The bike is awesome

Re: My Mean Green 2015 Kawasaki Z800

Congrats man! The green black combo looks killer! I was also not aware of this color scheme!

BTW. This caught my attention from your post. What was it about? Tire pressure?

Thanks Buddy.
I suppose it was a bit of nerves on my part. Tyre pressure seemed fine, I checked that before setting off.

Re: My Mean Green 2015 Kawasaki Z800

Completed 1000 kms. Booked an appointment for first service on the weekend.
So far things have been good. I can open it up to 6000 RPM now. The acceleration is just unbeatable by pretty much anything else on the road.

Even riding constantly at 100-110 I have gotten an average of 21 plus which is very very good. This includes riding at 60-70 on bumpy village roads.

Congrats on the purchase. Great looking bike indeed. My favourites are the speedo and the front headlamp looks.

Wish you many safe miles ahead.

Re: My Mean Green 2015 Kawasaki Z800

Congratulations on the bike. Hope and pray that you may have safe miles on it.

How does the exhaust note sound? Does it have a sporty feel? If possible can you please post a video of the music?

Yes, its the typical inline-4 music. The stock exhaust is fairly quiet at low RPMs but still louder than most other bikes. It just sounds beautiful when you are astride the bike. Will try to post a video.

Congratulations Celestial!! The Bike looks smashing. The 1st thing that came to my mind after taking a test ride of the Z800 is that This is one of the most practical Big Bikes for our conditions

However i see that the Onroad Price in Pune is 8.79lakhs where as when i checked in Bangalore last month the Onroad Price here is 9.62Lakhs.

I mean the taxes in Maharashtra and Karnataka are almost similar(infact i think MH its slightly more than KA). Is there a difference of almost a lakh in the ex showroom prices between the two neighbouring states?? This is astonishing

I think the Road Tax in Bangalore is significantly higher. Some of the KA guys can chip in to confirm.

Difference in ex-showroom price is 40,000- 7.9L in Pune and 8.3L in Bangalore.

Road tax in KA is 13.1% for two wheelers (priced > 50K) when compared to 6% in Pune.

There is no one time charge of 10K in Bangalore.

@TheCelestial - I paid an amout of 18.3K towards zero dep insurance from HDFC Ergo. I can see that you paid over 23K. Have you tried to get a quote yourself?

I thought ex-showroom is same all over the country. Thats a fairly large difference.

I didnt get a quote on my own. But I will probably do that on the renewal.

Ex-Showroom price is different across states and it is up to manufacturer to decide depending on local taxes & logistic charges.

Ex-showroom price of Z800 in Delhi is 8.05L

VAT in Karnataka is 14.5% when compared to 12.5% in Pune.

But Kawasaki could not answer my question: Z1000 costs 12.5L in Pune and 12.76 in Bangalore. A difference of 26K. But why difference of 40K for Z800?

Next year try to renew insurance on your own. You should get a zero dep policy for ~16K (Post NCB discount).
