My bad. I had spoken to them end of Dec and they were still awaiting RTO approval. They had offered to call me back, but I guess they missed doing that

Z800 sales numbers are not great, so i guess they need to do this. Which is a realistic price also.
I called up bangalore dealership and they said will get back to me with pricing.

Now this news is on overdrive and zigwheels as well. Ex-showroom in Pune is 7.35L & OTR will be below 8L
I feel big bike scene is still not good in india with few companies taking customers for ride in one or the other way.

EDIT: I had received a call this morning from kawasaki bangalore team that they will be dispatching warranty card and they wanted to cross check my address. I was thinking like invoice is sufficient for warranty. They also asked if i still own bike or sold it off. Now i guess some news gonna come up.

Also this reduction in thailand prices is crap as their import price for a Z800 is still 4.02L. Last time they ordered was in Oct-14, like 15 or 20 bikes. Looks like they are having tough time selling them and hence reduction in prices.

This will make the z800 cheaper than the striple which was 7.58 ex blr, before the excise hike!

More powerful bike and a lot cheaper too! Will be interesting to see how this pans out

I guess existing owners like me, made a mistake by buying it early
+1, seems like a gimmick to push the sales. Given the Striple fiasco, quite a few users might not seriously consider Triumph and the price cut might be just what they need to pull the trigger on the Z800.

Though yeah, this is unfair to existing owners of the bike. However, Kawasakhi has conveniently labelled this discount as due to the lower price of the bike in Thailand, but then why is the discount only applicable till Mar'15?

Yes, that's what it seems like.

@Jaggu - Which ST offer did you finally take? I know a friend who ended up with cash in his pocket.

Jaggu, is it part number 8. in the image of this link that you are referring to?
They should add IN after the BR in the description. Lol!

Yes Ankur, if you read back the complete details of changes involved are mentioned somewhere back in the thread.

Yeah, I did go through the thread Jaggu. That's how I identified the part. Wonder if one could import the replacement parts and install them oneself here. But I guess one would be stuck with the remaps which are not allowed except by the dealers.

I also find it interesting to note that Haroon had probably known about this back in September when he discussed the fuel ratings and remapping of the Indian versions of most superbikes.
@ Haroon: my congratulations on your knowledge of not only superbikes, but also the indian motorcycle scenario in general. You sir, are a true aficionado in my book!

Re: Triumph India: Sold Bikes in India with fake performance figures!

Hello everybody. Hope this finds you well. New here so hello again!
Well this is an exhaustive list or rather thread. I read all the 42 pages of it, may be i cheated a little and skimmed through sometimes.
I feel miffed for the fact that Triumph stated something on paper and delivered a product that was not at par with what was originally promised. All said and done though, the Street Triple is a fantastic piece of engineering. Unfortunately now marred with cynicism. Hope that the the replacements or upgrades ease the pain.
100bhp, its a good number. But so is an 80bhp for a displacement of 675cc. How is Triumph treating you guys. I see pictures online on FB page etc, customers all grinning ear to ear...going for rides. So should is it all sorted?

Re: Triumph India: Sold Bikes in India with fake performance figures!

Abhijeet shares the following information. Is the exhaust being replaced for everyone?

Quote:
I have been contacted by the dealer in Pune to return the stock exhaust pipes for a free replacement with brand new exhaust pipes for the Bonneville which I got delivery on 12 june 2014. Please could you explain the reason for the same as unless and until i receive correspondence directly from Triumph I will not be exchanging these.
