Congratulations Artem! Looks fantastic!

I was at UB Mall, Banaglore last week and took some pictures of the Ducati showroom. They should be up and running in a couple of weeks time.

A friend whatsapp'd me these pics, says these Ducati's have arrived for the Bangalore showroom. Currently all the bikes are in a warehouse near UB City.

Re: Ducati to re-enter India in 2015. EDIT: Bikes priced from Rs. 7.08 lakhs (page 6)

I believe the Ducati showroom in Bangalore is now open. I could see a few bikes on display (showroom on the 1st floor in UB City Mall) when I was on my way to work earlier today.

Can someone confirm? If not, I was anyway planning to give them a visit this weekend and I can confirm with more details then.

Re: Ducati to re-enter India in 2015. EDIT: Bikes priced from Rs. 7.08 lakhs (page 6)

Got the first service done on my Scrambler last week.

Total amount paid was INR 5181 plus INR 740 for 4 litres of Shell Advance Ultra engine oil which I'd purchased separately since service centre was using Motul 300V.

The breakdown of INR 5181 was as follows:
  • Oil Filter INR 828
  • Copper Gasket INR 33.55
  • Cover Master Cylinder INR 533.70 (replacement - fell off or vandalised)
  • Paid Service INR 2160 (I presume these are labour charges)
  • Consumables Charges INR 1000
  • VAT @12.5% INR 174.41 (taxable amount INR 1395.25)
  • Surcharge A/C: 5.00% INR 8.72
  • Labour Service Tax 14% INR 442.40

So a grand total of INR 5921. (A trifle under $90). Next service is 10,000 Km away.

Thats pretty decent. Also how did you get 4 litres for 740? And why would you prefer this over Motul 300V?

Re: Ducati to re-enter India in 2015. EDIT: Bikes priced from Rs. 7.08 lakhs (page 6)

Oops, my bad - thats the unit price for 1 Litre. Thanks for highlighting it. The bike took in 3 Litres.

Shell Advance Ultra is the Ducati recommended oil and the bike comes pre-filled with it.

300V is also a high quality full synthetic & nothing wrong with it, it's just that I felt it is more suitable in other racing oriented Ducati models than the Scrambler (a street bike).

Besides, Scrambler has a 10,000 Km recommended drain interval but Motul 300V has a shorter recommended change interval so Scrambler owners would need to do one extra change themselves before the next service. I'm not sure if the Gurgaon service centre folks are even aware of this fact.

I'd already had several discussions on this topic a while back on the US Scrambler forum and here was the official Motul response:

Any news if they are giving test rides for scrambler? Wanted to check it out. Might drop there on this weekend to see the beauties in flesh.

Yes test rides are available. Go to the store and ask for Pranam. (you can refer my name if need be)

On a different note - I hate this Unofficial launch and an Official launch business.

Real enthusiasts are second grade citizens compared to the influential class who may/may not be true enthusiasts, but they get preferential treatment.

Why can't there be just 1 launch!

All the best Nasirkaka

Re: Ducati to re-enter India in 2015. EDIT: Bikes priced from Rs. 7.08 lakhs (page 6)

I just came back from the Bangalore showroom.. Had been there to check out the 899 and boy oh boy does it look beautiful in the flesh . Pranam wasn't there, I spoke to another guy who's name I don't seem to recollect now. Anyway, they aren't selling the 899 until June. They're waiting for the refreshed 2016 model and also the new 959 that was unveiled a few weeks ago.

"Even with a full payment there is no way of anyone getting the bike until June sir", is the reply I got. Such a bummer. They're still selling all the other models though :/

Re: Ducati to re-enter India in 2015. EDIT: Bikes priced from Rs. 7.08 lakhs (page 6)

Ducati had got two of their test bikes for Sunday morning breakfast ride of our riding group LLBs last week and it was an amazing experience to test ride these bike. We had a Diavel and Monster join us for the Sunday morning ride and most of us got to ride both bikes for about 5Kms or more.

Never expected Diavel to be so comfortable to ride and even with the speed lock, we were able to reach amazing speed in no time. The handling, rider comfort / posture + braking were some of the things I liked in Diavel.

Made a mistake of riding the monster after the Diavel and so I was little disappointed with it as Diavel had set a new standard.

So end of the test ride one of our group member ended up booking a Diavel and seems like two more are convinced to put their money on it in next few months.

Should say amazing bike at a good price range and definitely a good bike at that pricing considering a fat boy costs as much.

Must say these guys were patient enough to give the test ride to 20+ members of our group but end of the day it was win win as they got few confirmed bookings + few probable bookings
