Thanks Leslie!

After riding around a bit, one weekend Karthik (KarthikK) and I decided to head to Nandi Hills - mind you I was still getting a hang of the bike. Just when we reached the top, one has to take a U-ish turn to go to the parking and the surface is riddled with pot holes. I slowed down, but instead of going to 2nd gear (was used to the five gears in the CBZ as opposed to the six in the Ninja) I went into neutral. Lost momentum and since it was a right-hander, the bike leaned to the right. I couldn't control the weight, but had just enough time to get off and control the fall. The bike was on its side and I was almost in tears. New bike and I already dented it.

With help from a good samaritan, lifted the bike and I was shocked that there was no damage to faring! Then I noticed the scratches on the frame slider.

The Ninja & me - 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 650!-imageuploadedbyteambhp1444107736.770896.jpg

I'd say money well spent.

PS: haven't dropped the bike ever since

Congrats on the bike. A very practical bike for India. Wishing you many happy miles on it!
Yes the RC8s were bought as display bikes and they are on sale now even though the dealers are quoting a bomb for them. Not worth it.

Re: The Ninja & me - 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 650!

Congrats on the beauty Anil.

The extra wait for the 2015 was well worth it, in my opinion, as it looks quite a bit better than the older model with the zoro mask.

Also, great amount of detail in the write up was passed on expertly. Cheers to thousands of miles on her !

Re: The Ninja & me - 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 650!

IronH4WK mate nice to read your journey from the 2 stroke screamer Kawasaki KB 125 to Hero Honda CBZ (I have rode the KB125 during my teen age days and still ride my bro-in-laws' 2002 model CBZ) to now The Kawasaki Ninja 650. Brilliant write up about the pre-delivery experience while highlighting the fiasco by the dealer. At the end of the day you got what you wanted that is what is important. Well Kawasaki motorcycles do something to me every time I see em' right from the 1970's Kawasaki Z1 to W800 to Versys 1000 to Ninja H2R. Your Ninja 650 looks cool in that lime green and black shade. Nice to see you gear up during your rides. Keep sharing your experiences on how the motorcycle performs. Ride Safe.

Re: The Ninja & me - 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 650!

I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am. I have been day dreaming of the Ninja 650 for so long, but definitely don't want to cough up the big bucks just yet. Prowling on the used bike lots till then and unless the auto expo produces something promising, I might try and get myself a pre-worshipped 650 next year *wishful thinking*.

BTW, I'm not sure what's up with the RC8s in this image. I see the bike at a lot of dealerships (even seen a few registered ones on the road, and always thought they were just display vehicles. Somehow they land up at so many dealers.

Congrats for a fast yet practical superbike. Wish you many happy miles on it

I recently rode the Honda CBR650F and saw the Ninja 650 at the same time. The latter looks beefier and more comfortable too.

OT: Many KTM dealers got these as display bikes and now they are being sold to customers. That's the reason they are seen at multiple dealers and on the road too. Crazy bike this

Congratulations on our new acquisition. Indeed a very good choice. Is there any specific reason why you have not considered the Z800 from the similar manufacturer?

Congratulations Anil, great choice of bike. Any reason why you didnt look at the street triple or as pistons said, the z800? No craze for the inline 4 ?
You should start riding more man, let her stretch her legs lol

Re: The Ninja & me - 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 650!

Congratulations Anil. Very well penned down. N650 is a very practical beauty one can own.

Sorry for OT
Regarding the RC8, I was told there were "three" RC8's in Bangalore for display purpose. One among those was screwed up and they started to strip down the bike when I was there for my bike's 2nd service.

A click before they started with their repair.

Re: The Ninja & me - 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 650!

Congratulations on your purchase. Any idea how much does insurance for these cost in Bangalore ? Do watch out the brakes, they tend to loose their bite pretty fast. They are not bad but not good either (for me atleast). 2 UP and they really under perform.

Coincidentally '14 Ninja 650's registration plate has the same last 3 digits as yours.
