Suzuki GSX-S 1000 & S 1000F coming in June 2015

Japanese two-wheeler major, Suzuki plans to concentrate on products over 150 cc in India. With these, it plans to draw a younger audience.

Among the products in the pipeline are the GSX-S 1000 and S 1000F superbikes. While the former sports a street-fighter styling, the latter is a fully-faired sports tourer. The two motorcycles are powered by a 999 cc, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 144 bhp and 105 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bikes are equipped with features such as ABS and traction control.

Suzuki is planning to launch the bikes in the country in June 2015. It sold 280 superbikes last year and aims to increase this figure to 400 in the current year.

The company also aims expand its sales network in India. It has 800 outlets at present and by March 2016, it plans to have 1,500. Suzuki will focus on strengthening distribution network in A and B class cities.
