USA: 46,000 Harley-Davidsons recalled over clutch fault North American motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson has issued a recall for around 46,000 motorcycles in the USA. The motorcycles are being recalled over an issue in the transmission, wherein the bike could get stuck in gear as the clutch may not fully disengage. The issue has been attributed to gas bubbles that can cause the clutch master cylinder to lose its ability to fully disengage the clutch. Dealers will flush the clutch and rebuild the master cylinder.
The recall covers certain Electra Glide, Ultra Limited, Police Electra Glide, Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King models from 2014 and 2015. The problem came to light after the company received multiple customer complaints. Twenty seven crashes and four minor injuries have been reported. The recall has only been issued in the USA and it isn’t clear if other markets will be affected.
