Oh yes, the responses in the quoted messages have been deleted. I tried to retrieve the page from history but then it re-loads and does not show me the old log.

Hi Aditya,

Is it possible to retrieve the message?

Let me put this in short once again

Key heating is normal.

Indicators you will get used to soon.
Buzzers not needed and self cancelling ones don't work.

Sound is average. Try Denali sound bomb. New one seems great, the split bomb.

Mileage is low for you maybe due to your riding style. I get a min of 16 in office commute and least I got was 13. To make it detect correct fuel quantity straightaway, turn to on only after you are on the seat and not on side stand I. E. The bike is straight

re: Godzilla! My monster from Japan. Kawasaki Z800- NOW SOLD !!! !!!

Thanks Vishal / Sojo on your inputs on all of the points.

Self Cancelling INdicators - Yes, a buzzer would be irritating. And with such a short turning radius, it would be more of an irritation than a useful feature.

The only reason I am not changing the horn is because it will void the warranty. Will check out the Denali. Do you have it installed on Roadbuster?

Also, adding from my end:
If the red blinking light when you are parked is something that you do not want, you can get it off. Personally, I hated it as it draws attention for no good reason.
Love this tip Sojo! Agree it attracts unwanted attention (even my own). I will try this out. That reminds me, I have to spend the entire night going through the manual to figure out all the stuff in the speedo (Nokia N-Gage).

I will also be installing the engine guards tomorrow. Will post pics when its done.

Thanks everyone!

re: Godzilla! My monster from Japan. Kawasaki Z800- NOW SOLD !!! !!!

So finally got the engine guards installed. Am sure Godzilla must be feeling good now. The good part about the engine guard is that it looks like an OE item. The color matches the frame and it doesn't look like an aftermarket.

Some pics of the install :

I noticed something very strange while installing the guards. This is how the inside of the rear wheel looks. It is only at one place where the metal looks so much deformed - at other places it is well shaped. Is this the same with all other Zs?

Godzilla! My monster from Japan, the Kawasaki Z800

Whoa! That's super weird! Why would they have a piece cut out and open like that? Or has the covering piece fallen off?

Edit: Googled and couldn't find anything about a hole in the rear wheel.

Hey IronHawk,

Yes the hole is there on both - the front and rear wheels. I believe its there on the Ninja 650 and all other superbikes as well. I checked a friends Z800 today and everything inside looked quite normal and machined perfectly.

Sojo/Djay/Celestial : Could you check from your end and confirm please?

re: Godzilla! My monster from Japan. Kawasaki Z800- NOW SOLD !!! !!!

Today was my first long (if you can call 100 kms long) ride on Godzilla. It was a breakfast ride to Panvel McD. We were a group of 6 people / 6 bikes - 2 x Z800, 1 x Z1000, 1 x Speed Triple (ridden by TBhpian Odden12), 1 x RE Desert Storm and 1 x KTM RC390. Odeen and me planned to meet up near my house at 5-45 SHARP - and I didnt need a call or message from him to announce his arrival. The Street Triple (with its loud Arrow exhausts) did the job We met up with a the other Z800 and Z1000 at Andheri East at 6AM and took the Powai-EEH route. None of the bikes had crossed the 1000km break-in and hence we were riding very sedately (around 80kmph). Since it was my first long ride on a superbike, I was being very careful and riding slow (60-70 kmph).

The early morning ride was good - not much traffic, sun had just come out, but the weather was cool. We reached McD, sat down to eat our breakfast and started discussing our bikes and ex-bikes and our experiences. Overall a nice experience and a fun ride. Thanks guys!!

The odo showed 106 kms before the trip and 208 when I reached home. So around 100 kms averaging 60-70 kmph and 13.5 kmpl.

Dude 13.5 KMPL is low on a Z800. Some thing is wrong - either your riding style or bike's computer. Even in tightest b2b traffic in world, i got over 13kmpl. Did you reset it before going on a ride?

Hi!

Its there on almost all bikes with alloy wheels. Why? I do not know.

If you see any abnormality when compared with other bikes, you may get it inspected at ASC. But now, even I have become curious of its purpose.

How to get rid of this?

And after reading your experiences and seeing pictures, I just so want a big bike now. Congratulations

re: Godzilla! My monster from Japan. Kawasaki Z800- NOW SOLD !!! !!!

Great Pics and better company you got there.

Just since you say 1000km run in, I hope you have read or plan to read the manual soon. Run in is as follows :

1. 800kms - 4K RPM
2. 1000 Kms - servicing
3. 1600 Kms - 6K Rpm

I followed it by the book in spite of multiple instructions from everywhere and completed my 1600 today.

Also, your mileage is just too low and temperature are too high (Never seen more than 104 on mine on a dead afternoon of a scorching sun 38 deg day. Is it too hot there ?). Are you dragging her too much only on lower gears ? Anyways, you two on the the Z and the Speed might be matching the average

BTW, the holes there but it is clean inside.
One query from my side, is there a little hole just behind the key console ? I noticed it today and it freaked me out !

This was a lot of FUN. Thank you V12 for letting me be a part of the ride. I haven't been able to ride the Speed for sometime and this helped a lot. Thank you again. Awesome company. And brilliant meeting you.
The Kawasaki felt so refined and quiet. Its truly amazing how it behaves. Once you do finish your run in..i sure would like you see her let loose.

Would love to this more often.

Regards
Rahul
