Strangely, there is no mention of the ABS in the braking section. Lets wait and see what they come up with tomorrow.

It does not show directly under the versys, but shows via inventory. They may shift it tomorrow.

I am not a big fan of motorcycles in black as it requires a lot of care to keep it clean. I can understand if its a Harley or a Bonnie with glossy paint and shining chrome, but an adventure tourer looks in character when dirty.
What i do like is most of the surfaces are satin finish giving a distinctive look and also the green rear spring detailing. Would prefer the black to the ninja green which is an attention magnet. Also black being neutral can go well with most of the helmets/riding gears, apparels etc. Waiting anxiously for tomorrow. Hope there is a display bike somewhere in Bangalore.

Re: Kawasaki Versys 650 - Coming to India?

I don't think I have watched any other thread keenly as this one.

I am told that there will be ABS and non-ABS versions available and the cost of ABS version on-road will be 7 lakhs in Bangalore. Guess all these are rumours for now. Will need to wait till tomorrow! Black and grey is a color for sure.

Re: Kawasaki Versys 650 - Coming to India?

They show a black-green versys in the drop menu, then black versys on the page, and then a white one in the gallery!

The black-green looks superb! Hope that's the colour that gets launched.

Edit: That black tank-green fairing combination is not launched anywhere in the world! Can't find any other picture of the same.

Edit 2: Oops, spoken too soon. That is the picture of Versys 1000, reduced to show it as Versys 650 . See the fat silencer.

I called the Bangalore Indiranagar showroom a while back and the guy seemed clueless. All he said was that in Delhi, kawasaki plans to launch the bike today (was not sure). In Bangalore, it will happen later, probably next week sometime. No dates, nothing were given. Took my number and said will call once they receive the bike. Wonder why cant such big companies be a bit more professional with information, having a dedicated PR dept.

Re: Kawasaki Versys 650 - Coming to India?

There is lot of buzz in some of the riding groups at least the ones I am part of on Versys 650 launch. One of our friend confirmed that only black color is launched in India and may cost around 6.5L on-road in Bangalore. Looks like this was confirmed by his sources at Kawasaki dealer here and not sure if this would be the launch price or one more rumor.

Seems like a very capable bike for touring and definitely may pull quiet a few who were planning for Tiger XR to Kawa

Looking forward for the launch in Bangalore so that we can see the bike and compare it against others in the same segment and evaluate if it really is a good time to take a plunge out of Harley to Kawa or may be Tiger.

It's more of a wait and watch game for many of us while many in our group have booked Multistrada. I guess ownership cost of Ducati is too steep compared to the Japanees bikes. And hope they launch LT version here in India.
