You could be right.

Bonnie : I did 11,000+ kms in 9 months

Versys : ~ 4000kms in little over 3 months

Going by above statistics and If I keep up my momentum, I might end up riding the Versys more than the Bonnie

Lot of contradictory statements but, hey! you always wish for more in everything you have...Haha!
Haha ..! Our mind keeps playing cruel games ..

In your case, switching over from a torque monster like "Bonnie" makes you feel that the 6th gear is missing the grunt. In my case, switching over from a 100cc bike makes me feel that I need to search for one more gear over the 6th.

Keeping the fun aside, I know few Ninja 650 owners who have increased the rear wheel sprocket size just to make the overall gearing slightly shorter and they found good results. Alternatively, going for a reduced front sprocket size will yield you even more better results. Any TBHPians who have done such changes on their Ninja/Versys 650 can share more thoughts on this.

Thought I would wake this thread up...1500 kms round trip from Bangalore to kutrallam. Close to 5500kms down in about 40 days.

Bikes great. Brakes need to be ebc'ed. Tyres are crap. Either the MT 60 or the scorpion trail very soon. Very nervous in the wet. Absolute shite off tarmac.

Maybe a seat height reduction.

Ofcourse all the guards have to be in place.

Hope everyone else is safe and enjoying their rides and families during the wet season.

Hows the heat problem on the Versys compared to Duke390? Do you get tandoori thighs in traffic?

I currently own a D390 and primarily use it for touring. But vibrations and heat are the issues which make me upgrade to V650. I test drove one and immediately fell in love. Perfect for touring. And on reading comments like this, I am very perplexed to own this beauty.

There seems to be some nice design clues here for the coocase racks. Can you please attach some more pics of the rack. The mounting points on the bike and the side profile with the carrier, if possible.

The grip levels on dry tarmac are much better than Metzelers on the Bonnie which use to slide even at smallest hint of gravel

Wet conditions, I rode limited and especially the long ride to Mahabaleshwar. Not a single time did I slide or felt the tyre made the bike nervous. I'm very happy with the tyre performance till date

Maybe the heavy monsoon rains will tell me a different story. Let's wait and watch

Agree. Heat? What heat?

390 heat is unbearable. There is absolutely no heat from Versys even in heavy traffic. Come to think of it, this point never crossed my mind

Have you booked the Versys or Booking it?

Hi, just curious, but not seeing a lot of Benelli owners on this forum. Benelli is offering inline four at a lower price point than the parallel twin Kawa. Is there some problem with those bikes? Or is it a brand decision?

I think the answer lies here (DSK-Benelli launches 5 motorcycles in India).

The bikes are all very popular over on xbhp. Just head there and they have dedicated ownership and feedback thread for the benelli. Not so for the versys. Which has it here.

Now don't ask me why. Owner demographic maybe?
