Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak launched at Rs. 20 lakh

Ducati has launched the Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak edition in the Indian market, at prices starting from Rs. 20,06,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak draws its inspiration from Ducati's victory in the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado. This hill climb race is touted as the most challenging one across the world.

Mechanically, the Pikes Peak edition gets a fully adjustable Öhlins fork and premium quality TTX36 rear shock. Moreover, use of carbon fibre components has helped to optimise the bike's weight balance. The new Ducati is also loaded with advanced tech, including cornering ABS, cornering Lights, full-LED headlight, wheelie control, traction control and cruise control. It also gets a Ducati Multimedia System that comes with a bluetooth module to connect the rider's smartphone. A coloured TFT screen is a part of the instrument cluster that keeps the rider well-informed.

The bike will be available at Ducati's authorised dealerships in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru.

If anyone's interested, here's Greg Tracy (7 times International Pikes Peak Hill Climb champion) beating the 10:00 mark on the Pikes Peak in 2012. Greg Tracy is the only racer in the history of Pikes Peak to go under 10 minutes on two and four wheels.

I know it is 'function-over-form' and 'purpose-built' etc.
Still, for a Ducati, that is kind of ugly, isn't it?

If it was a Mahindra, the ownership threads would go 'I took my eagle for its first service today'.
