Ducati India imports XDiavel, XDiavel S & Hypermotard 939

Ducati appears to be prepping launch of three new bikes in the Indian two-wheeler market, as it has imported these bikes into India: the XDiavel, the XDiavel S, and the HyperMotard 939. All these units have been imported in the month of August 2016, and thus a festive season launch is being expected.

The Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S are high-performance cruisers, which are powered by a 1,262 cc L-twin, dual-spark, liquid-cooled engine, that generates around 154 BHP @ 9,500 rpm, and 128.9 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission, which is operated through a slipper clutch. Both of these bikes come with a full ride-by-wire system that offers different riding modes to suit the rider's requirements. Other features on offer include Ducati Safety Pack (Bosch cornering ABS + DTC), DPL (Ducati Power Launch), Cruise control, Hands-free, and Backlit handlebar switches.

Changes on the XDiavel S, as compared to the standard XDiavel, include full LED lighting with DRLs, a Bluetooth module, infotainment system, and machined finish on the engine belt cover, mirrors, and alloy wheels. Additionally, while the standard XDiavel gets Brembo M4-32 calipers at the front, the S comes with Brembo M50 calipers.

The third Ducati bike to be imported into India is the HyperMotard 939. It is powered by a 937 cc Testastretta 11°, L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine, that develops 111.4 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 97.9 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This engine operates via ride-by-wire arrangement, and is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. Features on offer include riding modes, power modes, Ducati Safety Pack (ABS + DTC), anti-theft system, heated grips, and sat-nav.

Ducati XDiavel With 156 Hp Power Launched in India at Rs 15.87 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)

Ducati has launched its performance oriented cruiser the XDiavel in India, at Rs 15.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). They also launched the XDiavelS priced at Rs 18.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The XDiavelS gets Brembo M50 brakes and a gloss black finish while the XDiavel comes in matte black paint option.

The Ducati XDiavel also gets a TFT screen with four different display modes, whereas the XDiavelS is equipped with Bluetooth module that lets riders view incoming calls, text messages and music playlists via their smartphone.

The XDiavel is powered by Ducati's 1,262 cc Testastretta DVT engine which is capable of delivering 156 hp and almost 129 Nm of torque that comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The company promises 'low-speed excitement' which is due to the fact that the bike can deliver peak torque at as low RPM as 5,000 RPM. Interestingly, the XDiavel is a belt-driven motorcycle, which means that power is delivered to the rear wheel via a belt and not a chain, like regular cruisers but is a first for Ducati.

It has three riding modes – Sport, Touring and Urban. In terms of electronics the bike is fitted with Ducati Safety pack (ABS+EBD), Ride by Wire, Traction Control and a 'Launch Control' system for those quick 0-100 km/h sprint times. Keeping up with tradition, high-end cruisers, the bike also has a cruise control.

Dayyum this is sweet pricing. Ducati is upping the ante now. Great pricing of the Multistrada Enduro and now xDiavel twins. The Thailand FTA route is definitely allowing some killer pricing.

This also means that soon to be launched BMW Motorrad motorcycles will get such aggressive pricing as well since they are going to be imported through the Thailand route. Good times are here for buyers as well as enthusiasts !

Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S launched in India

Ducati has launched the XDiavel and XDiavel S in India at Rs. 15.87 lakh and Rs. 18.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the fifth Ducati model to be launched in India in 2016, after the 959 Panigale, Multistrada 1200S, Multistrada Pikes Peak, and Multistrada 1200 Enduro.

The new Ducati XDiavel made its global debut at the 2015 EICMA motorcycle show. It is built on an all-new frame, where the engine block is a stressed member of the chassis. The exposed trellis frame gives it a raw and naked appearance. The XDiavel gets a full LED headlight, while the XDiavel S adds an inverted U-shaped DRL. It gets a low-slung cruiser look, thanks to the lower seat height, front set foot pegs, and a minimalist tail.

Powering the XDiavel is a 1,262cc Ducati Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing), L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 156 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 129 Nm of torque @ 5,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission, and features a slipper clutch. Ducati offers three riding models on the XDiavel - Sport, Touring and Urban, which let the rider tune the bike in accordance to the requirements. It also gets a launch control system, which the manufacturer has named Ducati Power Launch (DPL). The XDiavel twins are the first bikes from Ducati to feature a belt drive mechanism, rather than the conventional chain drive setup.

Other features include Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), ride by wire throttle, Bosch cornering ABS, cruise control and hands free ignition. The XDiavel S is also equipped with Ducati's multimedia infotainment system and Bluetooth connectivity.

The XDiavel S gets some cosmetic enhancements, which include a brushed aluminum swing-arm and glossy black engine and belt covers. The fuel tank too gets a gloss black treatment with matte black and red inserts in the middle. The standard version gets Brembo M4-32 calipers while the S comes with Brembo M50 calipers.

The Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S are now available at the company's dealerships in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru.

Great Pricing on XDiavel's. I was expecting xDiavel to start from 18L but 15.87L is very good pricing IMO. Let's hope to see BMW pricing their bikes aggressively.
