Hi All,

Quoting Overdrive October issue:

"Torque Motorcycles in Mumbai would be KTM's official dealer in India. KTM has decided to test waters in India by launching their 990 SuperDuke. This bike is undergoing homologation currently. Torque motorcycles owner Sumesh Menon is hopeful that if all goes well there would be more models that would be homologated for the Indian market including the company flagship model, the 990 Adventure.
Sumesh Menon and his team of technicians have already undergone training in Austria at KTM's factory on running the dealership as well as servicing KTM Motorcycles."

Anyone knows more about this? Can anyone in Mumbai confirm with the dealer and find the expected price for the motorcycle?

if they really r gonna launch it b4 other big boys roll their machines, then i think there will be plenty of takers.. but if they play "the wait n see game" as what our home grown companies are doing then i think they will pack up in a few months time

Is KTM only intending on introducing those 2 bikes (Superduke and Adventure)?

They would probably do decently well if they start selling their moto-X bikes in Bangalore...

No offenses naveen, but methinks the KTM ranks right up there when it comes to attractive naked bikes...The looks grow on you as tie progresses...

Wow, I'm really ignorant. I had never heard of this KTM. I just saw their webpage http://www.ktm.com.au/

They look like a well known company and good too, the way you guys are praising it. Excellent, nice to see more brands coming to India.

This litre class bike will demand the premium of an european street bike, and spares would be expensive as well. I have seen Superdukes priced at $16,500, it was reduced to $15,000. With the hefty import tariffs, I would be happy if they offer it for around 12 to 15 lakhs. Checkout the review here.

I hope this news makes the japs launch & push bigger bikes. I never rode a KTM, but I have a buddy who takes his KTM to the super moto races, and he loves it to death.

Yup....me seen one KTM SX 125 which was here in Thane for repairs, and it was the most exotic bike I had ever seen.

The LC single-cyl, expansion chamber, single underseat exhaust, seat-too -narrow-for-anyone's-behind, knobbly tyres, beefy front forks and gas damped monoshock....all these mad me forget even the best SBK I have ever seen.

I am surprised.....

And anyway KTM have ruled the Dakar Rally in 2-wheelers...that is why it has such a hhuge fan following.

But recently, they have released some on-road bikes too....
