The most luxurious 2-wheels in the world.

There are n number of luxury cars. There the caddy, the lincolns, the beemers, the maybachs, the Audis etc etc etc. But the brand name that stands strong since decades is the MERC.

Similarly if we were to look at 2-wheels, which brand would have the most luxurious image considering all the the brands like harley-davidson, Buell, KTM, Bimota, aprilia, mv agusta, benelli, Laverda, bmw, ducati, triumph, Honda, kawasaki, suzuki, yamaha and all others.

yamaha shot to fame with the R1, suzuki did their bit with the busa: claimed some records etc, kawasaki has maintained their Ninja image since quite a while and came back into the picture with probably a busa beater, the 12 r, but honda inspite of not having the fastest or the most good looking bikes has always been the most trusted and highest selling brand between the four japanese majors, who more or less dominate the two wheeled world.

thats more of a caddy counterpart to me, not a suitable counterpart for a merc atleast, it is not as widespread and known brand as a mec, and far far away from being trustworthy (atleast from what i have read).
Harley is a sure legend, something people buy when they go with the heart, but they just arent as big as any of the jap majors.

If luxury means comfort, there is only one name that comes to my mind. "Gold Wing". There is nothing that comes close to a Honda Gold wing. Lots of gadgets for comfort (heated air vents, cd player, navigation etc), lots of gadgets for safety (ABS, airbags etc.)

If luxury means expensive, then MV Agusta and Ducati come to my mind. Although doing a couple hundred miles on any of these would be a major PITA literally.

In that case what about the Dodge Tomahawk. I think , the first one was sold to Jay Leno for a million or more. Tomahawk info......

The Y2K at $150K it is expensive. I think of Y2K as a science experiment, rather than a exotic motorcycle. Or, as speed channel called it - its a purpose built bike. The purpose is definitely not to cruise. :-)

If you are looking for the most luxorious bike - in terms of price, these are the ones I can think of

$ 42,995 - MV Agusta Tamburini

$ 65000 (approx) - Ducati Desmosedici

$ 59,800 - bimota Tesi 2D

$ 32,995 - Ducati 999R Xerox

for me juxury would be: a)a very comfortable seat b)good protection against the wind c)heated grips for those cold mornings

so the goldwing it is.

For pure luxury on a production bike, it has to be the gold wing
for image, IMHO , it is a toss up between a VRod and the Triumph Rocket.

Want to really stand out- Get urself an Indian!
