re: Triumph Street Triple 765 - Launched at Rs. 8.50 lakh

street triple launched at a price of 8.5 lacs exshowroom delhi.
Pricing looks good as it undercuts kawa z900 by nearly 50,000. now the confusion starts which one to buy.

re: Triumph Street Triple 765 - Launched at Rs. 8.50 lakh

The Street Triple S (base version) has been launched at Rs 8,50,000/- ex-showroom Delhi.

Two colour options for India -

The more premium R and RS versions are to be launched before the end of the year.

Unfortunately, I dont see the BHP figures on any sites as of now. I hope they arent purposefully hiding it (and that this isnt a repeat of the previous generation fiasco ).

Triumph had stated a long time back that they won't be detuning the street triple this time. So the vehicle is going to be launched with the original 111bhp powerplant.
8.5 lakh is spectacular pricing as it is a bit short on power and equipment compared to the z900 which is priced at 9 lakh.

As per their previous statement the R was not going to be launched in India. If they are launching it then it will be priced a lakh more maybe and that will be a real tasty deal considering the equipment that bikes comes with.

As per this slide of the presentation, the bike is not being detuned

Z900 is launched with basic accessories added. Additions like sliders, tank pad etc which costs more than 50k. 74k I believe, as calculated by a member in the Z900 thread.

So both seems to be priced at par. If Kawasaki is wise enough, they can introduce the variant without accessories now and match the pricing.

Will be going in for the test rides as soon as the bikes arrive.

So the speculation was right. Finally it's out. ST3 undercutting the price of Z900.

If we look at the other way around, ST3 would also need the basic accessories like frame sliders, tank pads, Fork protectors, windscreen , bellypan etc (if not a part of stock bike) which would roughly reach around Z900 mark.

Now, it comes to the buyer's taste of what he wants.

My personal choice would be New ST3.

Cheers,
Amey

Hang in there. Too early to decide. Because it looks like Ducati has been waiting for the ST3 prices to send out this invite, which I just received.

The famous L-Twin doesn't seem fascinating at just 75ps at 8,250rpm and 68.9Nm torque at 5,750rpm although it might be tad cheaper than the competition as speculated.

Cheers,
Amey

I think going by the UK pricing, about 7.5 lacs ex. for the Ducati seems right. Of course they can knock the ball out of the park by launching at 6.99 lacs.

BTW, what was the pricing of outgoing ST3? Please quote ex showroom, not OTR Bangalore or Madras - they are useless for somebody not from the same city..

From the Triumph India website: the old Street Triple was Rs 7,91,080/- ex. showroom Delhi (vs. the Rs 8,50,000/- for the new Street Triple). Increased prices for Bangalore/Madras for the new version should be around the same range (i.e. a premium of around Rs 59,000/- for the new version).

8.5L seems to be ex-delhi. If you include local KA VAT then it should cost ~8.8L.
Add 22% loot (road) tax, Insurance, Handling and you are looking at over 11L OTR Bangalore. Very pricey IMO.
