What a beautiful 100 kms Sunday Ride to start the break-in. As they say in Hindi 'poot ke paaon paalne mein nazar aa gaye'. The bike was so supremely comfortable that I even forgot my Heritage for a while. Absolute contrary to what I had experienced bringing my bike back home in rush hour traffic. You can ride this bike in 6th from 30 kmph onwards. The gear shift is butter smooth contrary to my Heritage. This bike is a absolute beast on the highway. Had to 'very' strongly control my urge not to go past 4000 rpm (95 kms) but then at some very short stretches, I did....Lolz

Everything about this bike is flawless for my height and frame. From seating posture, ergonomics to seat comfort. I can easily see myself doing 1000 kms a day on open roads. Trying to find some faults now.

Cheers...

Ninja 1000 vs the ST RS? Really!! Two totally different bikes for totally different needs. One is a track focused short duration machine while the other is bulletproof highway cruncher which will still beat the latter on the track day. If someone is confused between the two, it's really surprising. One should clarify their biking needs and set their priorities straight before going for either.

Cheers...
Hey! That's me - There is nothing wrong in being confused. In the other thread, I had also mentioned it is not apple to apple comparison. I was waiting for RS since ST3 was launched, and it was launched after I paid for N1000. I didn't even seek advice in the other thread. Just a tug between two totally different bikes fighting for the same budget.

It is not fair to classify bikers as JUST track guys or touring guys. They could be both of them. I have had a fair share of both track bikes, nakeds and tourers.

Hope I clarified in my reply above.

Don't get confused mate. You have booked a fantastic bike. You will not regret the decision in the long run. This inline 4 will leave all these smaller capacity twins and triples in the dust whether on the track or on the highway. Yes the RS has some additional glamour attached to it like the color TFT screen etc., but all that will be short lived in the long term against the bulletproof performance of this new Kwaker which also provides tremendous value for what it offers.

Cheers...

Weight matters a lot too, when it comes to the track. RS is almost nearly as powerful but more importantly - extremely lightweight too.

However, my pick would surely be the Ninja 1000. Because I'd surely be using a bike more on the streets rather than the track. And the Ninja scores on almost every front when it comes to road usage.

The problem with touring is... Even within the touring brigade you now have spin offs. There are those who just enjoy the highways, where a bike like this shines.

Then there are those who carve canyons, where anything more than a duke 390 is absolutely no fun at all.

Then there are those who dual sport on very rough terrain where an impulse reigns king.

Theres a blogger from goa, deelip menezes, who practically has 3 different bikes to suit each of his purposes. He has a tiger 800, an impulse, and i am not sure what he did with his duke 390.

This is where a bike like the versys 650 kind of makes sense. A good combo of the lot. But not focused on particular thing. Probably why its the commuter do it all of choice in many countries around the world.

50 kgs lighter.. And man this would be the bike to beat. Its only the weight thats holding her back.

Congrats everyone for their new ninja's!

Re: 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 launched @ 9.98 lakh

Looks like people are going berserk with such an awesome pricing of the Ninja 1000 and buying it like Hershey Chocolates of the shelf

3 Ninja 1000 ( 2 green/grey and 1 all new black color) delivered today in Hyderabad

Kawasaki has really priced this product well and its rare to see a waiting list for super-bikes (All of these bikes were on order and this is 2nd lot pan-india. I'm sure the wait-list for 3rd lot is also already lined up)

Congrats to all the new owners on the forum

Re: 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 launched @ 9.98 lakh

Are we going to see a revised pricing for the Z1000 as well, in lines similar to the Ninja 1000 with a new launch? Have they even released a newer version of the Z1000 or is it still running the old one?

I would think the same would begin to apply to the versys 1000 as well. Will have to wait and see. They sure are decimating the competition as far as sales is concerned. If they just get their service component together...

Re: 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 launched @ 9.98 lakh

I picked up my 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 in green yesterday.

That I didn't get my Green Ninja in the last batch turned out to be a good thing, since I got a 2018 model in a gap of 3 months.

I was in such a rush yesterday due to other commitments, that I haven't take it for a Pooja yet. Hopefully will get all things done today. (Too much work, but I am not complaining since it helps me pick a Ninja )

All's well that ends well.

Will post pics soon.

Thanks for all the support guys.
