@Rohan: did you find the screen making a notable difference to wind buffeting? Basically - assume this is well worth it?

Thanks
So is this a tinted screen (dark) or clear? I have a feeling that the S screen should fit onto the RS as well but need to ask the guys at Triumph.

Wont fit. Because of the difference in the console, the mounting brackets are completely different for both the screens- hence the different part numbers.

As far as I know, there is clear screen only. Even the Triumph accessories web page lists the clear screen.

I just got the screen for the S. It's a smoky dark one. Not clear.

Re: Triumph Street Triple RS launched at Rs. 10.55 lakh

Dear All,

One quick question - There is one Street Triple RS of 2018 available for resale. Bike is registered in Gurgaon., HR regn.

Any issues if we use the bike in Bangalore without doing a KA registration? Please confirm.

Also any feedback on Extreme Machines Delhi?

What all I need to watch out for?

Thank you in advance.

A close friend picked up his RS from them as well a couple of months back. No issues with them. Was a fair and transparent deal.

Are these demo bikes although I can't imagine demo bikes being offloaded so soon.

I saw this RS ad too and am amazed how both Extreme Machines and NS One regularly get 3 digit ODO same year nearly brand new bikes that are popular (I recall seeing a similar brand new bike from NS One as well recently - can't remember which one it was).

Without doing KA registration (beyond 1yr), it's only a matter of time before cops catch the bike and make you do it. LTT is 10-12% of the cost in KA IIRC. It might be of interest to bargain accordingly.

Re: Triumph Street Triple RS launched at Rs. 10.55 lakh

Man, these front brakes sound is quite annoying. I'm about 1500kms and yeah the sound is quite audible every time I break. I will have to take it to Triumph and get it checked up.

I haven't used my RS all August and with having quite a bit of rains, it was left in the open and I can see the chain starting to show the orange rust. I think it's best I get it oiled.

Besides that, I rode my bike from Vijayawada to Hyderabad, it took me about 4.5-5 hours with multiple stops for tea breaks, enjoyed the ride very much and it is the longest I've ever ridden a motorcycle.

Front brakes sound could be because of the pads have dirt on them. Or it's the rains. Check the discs too. Dirt embeds itself in the pads and keep grinding the discs.

For the chain, i'd suggest cleaning it with a Motul chain cleaner. Or even kerosene. You can buy a regular grunge brush on Amazon.

If you are going to ride in the rains and want less chain maintenance invest in a better lube. (Once you have thoroughly cleaned the chain)
Use something like a Putoline, Yamalube or Maxima chain wax. All are available in India.

Cheers!

Re: Triumph Street Triple RS launched at Rs. 10.55 lakh

5000 km update

The RS crossed the 5000 km mark this Sunday and i have to admit that it has been nothing short of magical with her. Every single time that i have taken her out for a ride, i have had a massive smile plastered across my face. The way the RS delivers its power and how it manages corners is nothing short of phenomenal. This is the absolute best naked out there. The windscreen has been on for about 1000 km now and i can say that it has been an amazing add on.

While riding in the rain 3 weeks back, my left hand switch gear developed issues. Got it replaced under the recall program. Apart from this, there has been absolutely no issue to report with the bike.

Sharing a shot taken this Sunday

The 'Squeaking' of brakes in a new motorbike is normal and not necessarily because of any dirt or foriegn matter. Just 'break' them in properly.
I have mentioned the 'break in' process earlier. My RS's brakes squeaked too but just in the initial 500-1000 kms. They are perfect now.
