Good news for tiger fans and prospective buyers!!!
New 2020 triumph tiger spotted testing. Looks a hell lot meaner and menacing, with a bigger engine and tubeless spoked wheels. The rear gets a new bolt on subframe and removable pillion pegs ( easy to replace in case of an unfortunate crash). Wooohh. Itís raining cars and bikes.

Posting new pics of the new tiger. Mods, please merge this with my earlier post.

Bike went through some small cosmetic changes. Red beak job, some other red highlights, new stickering for the top box.

Found a new pic of the 2020 tiger 800. It reportedly has a bigger 888 cc engine, 100+BHP of power, an entirely new frame, a remote adjustable suspension!!!
The new triumph design language is awesome and all triumph bikes are looking slick in the new images. Posting another pic which I found of the new detachable subframe.

Well they better do something, because the KTM 790.Adventure is killing it on the roads, in the trails, on YouTube, and over on the sales charts by the looks of it.

The KTM is selling the 790A much cheaper compared to the Tiger 800 and other 700-900 cc adventure bikes along with the updated and very competent electronics package, a big reason for its popularity.

Also, for sheer off road and dirt prowess, this newer KTM is a superior machine compared to the Tiger. Back on road of course, the Tiger leads the way with its supple ride and comfort. Two very different motorcycles.

The KTMís are in a league of their own. They provide a whole lot of equipment and features but with single and parallel cyclinder layouts to keep the costs low.

Triumph is a niche premium brand and their inline 3ís are a class apart. I read that they have tried to centralise the top heavy mass more in the tiger by splitting the radiator and mounting it on either sides. This helped to move the engine a bit further and also provide more travel to the front suspension by keeping a tight wheelbase.

I think they have worked to reduce the overall weight too. So this might turn out to ve an even better handler. Hope they also introduce the low rider versions also in India with this model.

Found another picture of the side profile and seating position.

Assuming this is the low ride version. How many miles have you done? Has the suspension settled in?

Tiger goes to the racetrack!!

Took my Tiger 800 to CSS last weekend. Here are some pics from MMRT Chennai. If you are interested in the CSS itself I have posted a short review here:

A short ride today. The bike was bought in Nov 2018 and is just shy of 10,000 kms now (lockdown has obviously had a significant impact in its standing still last 3 months). I'm delighted at this purchase. Its been everything I hoped it would be although I really do miss my street triple S a lot. But no doubt, as a one bike garage it has to be an ADV like the Tiger. I have had absolutely no ownership or service issues so far. Save for a low battery perhaps which is also working fine for now.

Gear check:
Held pants, jacket and dual purpose goretex gloves.
Gaerne boots
Triumph neck tube to combat Covid. .
Leatt riding jersey
Schuberth E1 modular adventure helmet.

The bike:
- All stock so far including exhaust, batteries, tyres etc. i have literally done nothing except routine service and adding what is listed below.
- Some limited usual stuff added like denali soundbomb mini horn and two sets of lights – Baja and Gold Runway (GR 50)
- Basic protective stuff like radiator guard, engine / tank guards / sump guard / main stand etc.
- Side pannier racks added along with top box (came free with bike)
- Beak added and painted it red.
- Some basic highlight stickering done on tyre / tank and reflective on top box and custom number plates added both front and back.

Will be sending it for its 10k service in the coming week. Full marks to Triumph for the product and Triumph sales as well as service experience so far. Speaking of service since a lot has been written about Triumph, took it to the SVC post my ride today and showed it to Atul. He lubed the chain and washed up the bike - just like that as a courtesy, while I was chatting with him discussing servicing dates - no charge. This kind of thing including their general customer friendliness and competence is why my bike will continue to be serviced at Shaman Triumph even after its warranty.

Super pictures. And the bike's looking in great shape too! I'm curious to know where to?

Isn't the 10k kms service (aka 2nd service) after a year? So Nov/Dec 2019 would've been when it'd be due. Did you speak with Atul/Triumph service if it can be pushed ahead to when one actually reaches those figures?

Yes that's right. I need to discuss that with Atul. Exactly what service is going to be done now considering a 10k service was done at one year when it had clocked lesser distance.

Fact is, given its been a year (Nov 19) since its last major service, "some" service ought to be done now. I may have done a minor check up before my Dec Hampi ride too so will reconcile all those details and then figure out what should be done now.

Yes better to have a long discussion with him because the 3rd service is the major 20k kms one - the one to burn a hole in your pocket But considering you've hit half of that - might have to pick and choose the "service categories"

Shaman Triumph were offering discounted AMCs till last month, hope you availed of it.
