Good choice on windshield.
You don't seem to be fond of barbecue, that saree guard is still on bike even after a month.

Thanks man. LOL, the barbecue grill WILL come off, till I get some panniers. I'm planning to carry a saddlebag for a ride to Goa this weekend, the grill will keep the bags away from the rear wheel when I carve those corners while scraping my super low footpegs

Looks more like a "cruiser" now.

Nice modification. Absolutely essential for effortless cruising on the highways.

Any choices were available other than Piug?

Thanks man. Will have some additional feedback after the weekend ride.

I was initially looking at the original Kawi screen but at a quoted price of Rs. 33k, it kind of priced itself out. Another one I read about on the vulcan forums was a Madstad screen which people are raving about in the US. However, it had to be imported and I couldn't really wait for it to be shipped; was priced similar to the Puig screens.

Love that PUIG screen. I have a PUIG Rafale myself on my Z900 and the build quality, material & effectiveness is amazing.

4. Available in 4 colors

Set me back by 13.5k. The only downside, had to cut the number plate holder off to fit the screen.

Couple of pics for reference, before and after.
1) Why Clear colour? Logic/ Thought process?

2) How was the number plate refitted.

1) Clear as I wanted to ensure visibility at night wasn't affected. Although you end up looking over the screen, I feel comfortable being able to see where I'm going till the very last moment.

2) The number plate was removed completely and I put a number sticker on the front fender.

Re: The Kawasaki Vulcan S - Now launched at 5.44 lakhs

Please answer some of my queries on Vulcan
1. Ground clearance of 130mm is pretty low, how is it managed in case there is big (I mean really big) unscientific speed breaker?
2. How is the ground clearance behavior in case of pillion riding along? Possible to go on long drive with pillion?
3. Is engine heat bearable in heavy traffic situation?
4. How is service quality of Kawasaki ? Are there places to get this bike serviced beyond Kawasaki (in Bangalore)?
5. Service cost done in Kawasaki v/s outside

Only answering these two questions, on the basis of my experience with the Versys. Hopefully someone else can chip in with the other questions on Vulcan.

4. Average. Decent for regular services and keeping your warranty intact, but anything else - I'd get it done outside. Lot of options available in Bangalore - Gear Gear Motorcycles, Torq92, IndiMotard, Motospark etc.

5. Pricing is at par for the premium segment, with the only real exception being Honda. Slightly cheaper than Triumph, Benelli etc. At par with Suzuki.

Re: The Kawasaki Vulcan S - Now launched at 5.44 lakhs

Bought a used Vulcan couple of months ago. Got a good deal; a 2018 model with just 5600 kms on the clock.

Any riders in Mumbai for a quick ride?

Congratulations on the purchase! It's not a common bike but is a dream to ride. How much did you get it for?

Not too many of us are riding much, hopefully we can go for one in August. Where in Mumbai are you based at?

Sent you via a personal message.

Question for other Vulcan owners: Where do you guys get the bike serviced? The closest Kawasaki Service Center for me is in Thane. Any experience with this one?

Thanks

I'd recommend them highly. They are good and reliable. The service head - Sunil is really good. I used to service my Z650 and had no issues ever. The initial 2 service I had done at Anzen, Jogeshwari but then switched to Thane and never looked back
