Kawasaki has unveiled the all new 2019 ZX6R 636 at the American International Motorcycle Expo, 2018.

Highlights -

The Ninja ZX-6R features a 636cc liquid-cooled in-line four-cylinder DOHC fourstroke engine, transmitting power to a 6 speed quick shift enabled transmission with the help of an assist and slipper clutch.

Suspension duties are handled by Showa SFF-BP forks at the front and Showa adjustable shocks for the rear. The front wheel sports 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) and the rear wheel is equipped with a 180/55ZR17M/C (73W) - both BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S22 from Bridgestone.

Electronics include Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System) and two power modes.

Kawasaki India is getting ready to launch the ZX6R, with the vehicles already being spotted at homologation (Read more), but not sure whether we would be getting the 2018 or 2019 variant.

This is a cracker of a bike from Kawasaki. I am not a fan of this new twin lights styling however everything else should be superlative on this including the KQS.
The previous one had some fueling issues which I am sure Kawasaki would have sorted with this iteration. The middle weight performance category is finally open for business.

An interesting aspect - While writing an earlier thread about ZX6R coming to the Indian market, I had written this -

Going by the US prices, the 6R could be positioned between the Ninja 1000 (9.99L ex-showroom) and the ZX10R (12.8L ex-showroom).

Thats because Ninja 1000 was $12,199 whereas the 2018 ZX6R ABS was $12,699, the ZX6R being more expensive than the Ninja 1000.

The 2019 ZX6R not only packs more equipment, but is way cheaper as well - at $10,999 for the ABS version, full $1700 lesser than last year.

India Kawasaki announces pre-bookings of Ninja ZX-6R ABS in India. The supersport Ninja ZX-6R ABS boasts a potent 636cc in-line four-cylinder engine and premium components that stand above the competition. Infused with championship-proven technology, the Ninja ZX-6R ABS has the advantage in the middleweight superbike segment.

The Ninja ZX-6R has exhilarating power and nimble handling, which is apt for leisurely sport riding or real racetrack riding. Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director, India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd said, “First of all we appreciate the support from many Kawasaki fans in India. Our fourth successive championship in Superbike World Championship (also known as WSBK) shows our confidence and expertise in manufacturing supersport bikes in India. ZX-10R is the most affordable championship machine in India. The race-based engine, liquid cooled and four-stroke in-line four, is optimised for the street. Improved power feeling promises even more fun on the street and on winding roads. While the race-inspired clutch technology offers both a back-torque limiting function as well as a light feel at the lever. In addition to this, pressed-aluminium perimeter frame is the key to the Ninja ZX-6R’s superb balance of flickable handling, mid-corner composure and an ability to change lines on command, coupled with excellent chassis feedback. In terms of looks, the all-new design of the front cowling represents the next step in the evolution of the iconic Ninja “face,” contributing to a look completely distinct from rival models.

Designed to deliver the fun and excitement of a supersport machine to a wide range of riders, the updated Ninja ZX-6R has numerous high-grade technological features like KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System), KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), Twin LED headlamps, LED taillight, KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter) and the silencer with a sporty look. The high-grade instrumentation has newly added features in fuel gauge and remaining range function. Apart from this, it has also a large analogue tachometer flanked by warning lamps on one side, and a gear position indicator and multi-function LCD screen on the other. Bridgestone’s latest sport tyres BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S22 contribute to lighter handling, while offering superior grip in both dry and wet conditions, which translates to greater rider confidence and enjoyment.

The Ninja ZX-6R will be assembled locally in India Kawasaki Motor’s factory in Chakan, Pune. While the Ninja ZX-6R will be introduced in KRT edition, its ex-showroom price and specifications will be released in due course of time. Like locally assembled Ninja ZX-10R, the Ninja ZX-6R will be available in single seater. Customers can pre-book the ZX-6R for an amount of Rs. 1,50,000 at the authorized dealership of India Kawasaki Motors and customers can expect the delivery of the bike post January 2019. The pre-booking facility is open from 31st October 2018 till 30th November 2018. As this bike will be produced in limited numbers in first lot, the bookings will be closed after reaching targeted numbers. The future lots of the Ninja ZX-6R will be decided based on the response to the pre-bookings in India.

We are getting only the KRT edition in the first batch, which is 11,299$ in the US, as against 10,999$ for the normal ABS version.

I'm guess 9.5L ex-showroom if they are going aggressive, or 9.99L ex-showroom if they are not targeting more numbers - looks like a limited production run.

I got to know from a source that the on road price is going to be around 13.5 lacs OTR Mumbai. Zx10R prices are also increased by around 1.5 lacs so it costs around 17.5 lacs OTR.

Yep it is going to around 11.5 lacs ex showroom. So in Kerala it may cost around 14 lacs OTR.
