Ducati has unveiled its entire range of MY2019 motorcycles at an international conference ahead of EICMA 2018. Among three new motorcycles announced at the event is the Panigale V4R, the flagship Panigale in the Ducati range.
With 221bhp of power, 172kgs of weight and a power to weight ratio of 1284 hp/ton.
Or with a racing kit that provides 234hp, 165.5kgs of weight and a power to weight ratio of 1414bhp/ton.
The Desmosedici Stradale R engine is claimed to hit the rev counter at 16,000 rpm (16,500 rpm in sixth gear) to ensure a greater sprint. Impressive figures for a 998 cu. cm engine, that become even more amazing by fitting the full-racing exhaust Ducati Performance by Akrapovic, brings the maximum power to 234 hp@ 15,500 rpm.
The aerodynamic package of the new Panigale V4 R includes: protective windscreen, headlight fairing and side fairings to reduce aerodynamic resistance, air extractors to reduce operating temperatures in heavy-duty racing use, and the GP16-derived carbon fibre aerodynamic appendices that claims to increase stability in all riding phases.
The Panigale V4 R is exclusively equipped with the new pressurised 43mm Öhlins fork, and Öhlins TTX36 on the rear, both with mechanical adjustment. Even the Öhlins steering damper leaves the electronic adjustment in favour of the mechanical one.
The new Panigale V4 R is equipped with the latest generation electronic package, that manages all riding phases, based on the Bosch 6D IMU. A Pit Limiter makes its debut on the bike, limiting its speed when riding in the pit lane. The bike also features Riding Modes, Power Modes, Bosch Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Slide Control (DSC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO and Auto tyre calibration as safety aids.
Rides on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP 120/70 R17 tyres upfront and 200/70 R17 at the rear.
Ducati claims that the new Panigale V4 R is a racing bike type-approved for road use and is the technical starting point from which the official Ducati Superbike models that will complete starting from 2019 racing season derive!
The Panigale V4 R, if and when launched in India will be positioned above the V4 and V4 S priced at Rs. 20.53 lakh and Rs. 25.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.
