Ducati unveils Multistrada 950 S ahead of EICMA 2018 Ducati has given a major update to its baby Multistrada - the 950 which was unveiled at EICMA back in 2016. With the update, Ducati aims to make the 950 a range in itself rather than a cheaper sibling to the 1260 range.
The updated bike is available in two variants - the 950S and the 950S spoked wheels. Major mechanical updates include - Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evo system and Ducati Quick Shift up & down (DQS).
The spoked wheels version weighs in at 5kgs more than the alloys, but the seat height remains the same at 840mm. The 950 range does not get an Enduro version like the 1260S.
The bike now gets a full-LED headlight with Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL).
Both the versions ride on the same Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres, 120/70 ZR19 on the front and 170/60 ZR17 on the rear.
Safety equipment includes Bosch Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC). Riding Modes, Power Modes, Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL) and Vehicle Hold Control (VHC). In order to ensure the highest riding comfort during long trips on the motorway, the Multistrada 950 S is equipped with a Cruise Control system, handled by backlit controls on the handlebar.
Instrumentation duties are now handled by a 5 inch TFT colour display.
When introduced in India next year, expect the Multistrada 950S to be priced slightly above the current 950 which retails at 12.8L ex-showroom onwards.
