The BMW Motorrad dealership in Mumbai is offering heavy discounts ranging from Rs. 2.88-5.63 lakh on demo bikes.



The 2018 F 750 GS, which costs Rs. 18,20,000 (on-road) is available for Rs. 15,31,622. The 2018 F 850 GS costs Rs. 19,69,000 but is available at Rs. 16,68,500. The on-road price of the 2018 R 1250 GS is Rs. 27,20,000 and it is being offered at Rs. 24,35,203 for the Style Exclusive colour and Rs. 24,40,203 for the Style HP shade.



The dealership also has two 2017 BMW S 1000 RR demo bikes that are being offered for Rs. 21,54,000. That is Rs. 5,63,000 less than the actual on-road price.

I would stay away from these bikes unless they come free with a personal mechanic. Discount is too low for a demo bike - plus these bikes were super abused probably. Also used on track days which BMW organises for its prospective customers.

Is it a joke ? Depreciation on these bike in the last 3 years will be more than the offer they are giving.

They should have been touch with the bike renting companies. There are few in India offering high end motorcycle on rental. They wouldn't mind taking this offer.

I doubt if any customer capable enough buy a 20L+ motorcycle would be interested in saving 5L for a 3 year old bike with lot of abuse in its history.

Those rental companies will be far ahead than any customer in valuing these machines. BMW may not have got any response from them so they are offering it to public.

I wonder if a prospective customer can take one of these on a test ride and head to "cars 24" for a quick quote. This should give him an idea of the bike's market value

Yeah - its easier to find a unsuspecting bakra from normal public than trying to fool the rental companies who have experience dealing with such bikes

Will any prospective customer of these bikes be able to negotiate on the price? Or is it like this is the final offer we have, take it or leave it.

I agree with ethan on refraining from buying such bikes. Would better get a pre-owned from someone else at a lesser price.

You should be able to negotiate a bit and maybe get some accessories added.

That said this is a ridicolous offer and a person who understand bikes and pre owned market should not even be stepping into these showrooms.

The buyer will usually be the first owner and the warranty is an added bonus, you can negotiate really well.

BMW Bikes usually hold their resale value and the company cannot offer huge discounts such that the used market gets a competition from their rates.
