You are right. It does get cornering lights in the Indian spec too. I missed those earlier.

Did you enquire about the OTR? The non AS model but with tubless tyres like the AS at a little premium over the old non AS model sold here would have been icing on the cake for me.

Good off-road riding experience, but poor on the road - as per DriveMag riders:

Same as last gen Africa Twin then - excellent on trails. But not upto the mark on highways compared to its competition. At ~20L price point - a tough sell.

Really like this Channel and their reviews. Very underrated, IMO.

From what I hear, deliveries of the manual version will happen starting in August and for the DCT bikes it will be in January of next year.

Does it mean the initial batch is sold out? Or are we talking of the initial lot here? I haven't heard of any customer deliveries in Bangalore, but I could be wrong. What is the point of launching a bike in early 2020, if the deliveries are slated for 2021?

Good part is that some positive reviews are coming from friends regarding the new AT, after test rides opened here.

It seems to be much better on the road, miles ahead of the earlier version while retaining the offroad prowess of the former - which was probably one of the most boring litre class machines ever to hit the Indian market (A big Activa as many called it) - till you take it offroad where it really transforms.

2020 Honda Africa Twin deliveries commence

Honda has commenced the deliveries of the 2020 Africa Twin Adventure Sports in India.

The Honda Africa Twin is equipped with a 6-inch TFT display that is compatible with Apple CarPlay, 6-axis inertial measurement unit, wheelie control, cornering ABS, rear-lift control, DCT cornering detection, cruise control, charging socket and cornering lights.

The Africa Twin is powered by a BS6-compliant 1,084cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine that produces 101 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 105 Nm @ 6,250 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The local dealer probably meant that second batch dates as initial batch would be sold out. Let me try to find out more. Delhi has already seen the delivery of a black DCT bike as per a TBHPian.

There is a DCT variant on display at the Big Wing Honda dealership in Gurgaon, looks very impressive in black !

I'm however not sure if it is a customer motorcycle or just a display piece. The showroom was closed when I was there around 6 PM on Saturday. Not sure if it was closed due to COVID-19 (and the subsequent restrictions) or maybe I reached beyond their working hours.

Here's one click of the same, apologies for the poor framing.

Freaking mental to be spending that kind of money on this bike I don’t think the GS is too far off, and for someone who has that kind of money to splash on a weekend hobby at best, I don’t think gives a damn about service costs.

But still, with all bikes sold - wow, what am I not seeing that others are?

Re: New 1100cc Honda Africa Twin coming soon. Edit: Launched at 15.35 lakhs

Slightly offtopic but Honda has one of the worst sales and marketing team OR they really don't care if they sell big bikes or not. Maybe lil harsh but I really mean it from my heart, forget the pricing, but even their attitude has a long way to go before it becomes desirable.

Last time around also the same thing happened, I was genuinely taken aback by the attitude of the dealer here in BLR, in spite of placing request they never bothered to even give a callback or offer a test ride. Then also they told the same cock n bull story that it is sold out, a couple of months down the line messages started coming in that there are few more and call XYZ. That guy responded and even came to my office for a brief test ride, but as soon as I took it for a spin, I realized it was a HUGE compromise with the detuned engine. So politely declined, though I referred few people to them. Best part a couple of months down the line "a new batch was alloted and was available", so I disregard this "sold-out" news from dealers. They are just creating a hype or they have very poor internal communication regarding the allocation of bikes to India lol

Fast forward a week or two back, received a message that new Africa is available for test rides, and obviously few folks started sharing their ride impressions on various bike forums. So I pinged my contact, wanted DCT pricing since that is the only real motivation for me to consider a change. To date, nothing came back from his side reg pricing, availability, etc. Anyways we are in a connected world where we get info faster than from people who are supposed to share... Power to forums like Team-BHP! But the fact is I am not getting a good vibe to even consider this bike anymore. Sold out or not lol Yes I do have the itch to look at the DCT OR the Tiger 900 for replacing the XRX, but then god is giving signs not to do that ^, will wait for the Tiger 900 now.

Honda India, you need to seriously rethink your whole approach if you want to make it big, or be happy with selling few bikes here and there.. which any brand can
