Default Ducati unveils 2nd-gen Diavel 1260 ahead of EICMA 2018

Ducati has unveiled its entire range of MY2019 motorcycles at an international conference ahead of EICMA 2018. Among three new motorcycles announced at the event is the new 'Devil' - the Diavel 1260.

Diavel retains the styling character of the original, but the updated styling reduces some of the visual bulk. On the contrary, the new Diavel is 8 kgs heavier than the outgoing version.

The new Diavel is built around the Testastretta DVT 1262 engine, shared with the Multistrada 1260, that now produces 159 hp@ 9,500 rpm and 129Nm@ 7,500 rpm. Variable valve timing and ride by wire is claimed to provide a flatter torque curve than earlier.

The top-spec Diavel 1260 S which employs a fully adjustable 48mm fork and rear shock from Ohlins. Braking duties are handling by 2*320mm Brembo disc with 4 piston monoblock callipers up front, and a 265mm Brembo disc with a 2 piston calliper at the rear. Both front and rear braking is controlled by Bosch cornering ABS systems.

What a futuristic looking bike . A complete departure from the norm, this one takes the fun of unruly riding to a whole new level.

From what I ve read, despite having a 240 section rear, it is very impressive on the twisties and the Pirelli Rosso III has a huge role to play in it.

A treat for the eyes this Devil.

What a tasty looking bike this is. I am waiting for VST Ducati to get a test ride bike and get a nice long ride on this.

Is that well priced? I'm guessing a little bump from the old price?

I'm interested in the Diavel but I don't go out of town and that alone doesn't validate the purchase. My Street Triple RS barely did 3500 kms in the 1.5 years I've owned. Wife wouldn't be happy with another motorcycle.

Pretty well priced. Old one was around 16L ex-showroom ... but Ducati raised all prices by about 10%-15% in Jan. So 17.7 is around what the old one would have been anyway.

If you dont go out of town - Diavel is not the bike for you. It will be very heavy and unwieldy - plus will get quite hot as well in traffic. Its best enjoyed on open roads.

The side profile and the L twin engine looks stunning. It is priced well, hope I see a few on the road. The seat looks so plush and soft, makes me want to get something like that for my bike too

I think it is decently priced. Really a life style bike this. Does not do everything, but whatever it does it does well.
In reality its an over the top street fighter. Looks smashing and goes like stink.
