My first post on T-BHP ,

Here is my list,

1) Honda CBR 250RR (without features deletion), at around 3.5 lacs OTR, it would very well be my next ride.



2) Suzuki GSX R600 at around 10 lacs OTR.



3) Suzuki SV 650X at 7 lacs OTR.



4) Suzuki VanVan 200 kind of India specific abuse friendly, immensely capable, SIMPLE, fun motorcycle at around 1.2 lacs OTR. It will sit along with my Father's immaculately maintained Suzuki Max 100 in our garage.



5) Energica Ego



6) Lightning Strike

Great thread. Only one bike really for me.

The Honda CB1100 - I have been drooling over it from the time I can recall. The combination of the inline 4 with standard Japanese motorbike looks, is to die for.

But like the Z900 RS, it will be miserably over-priced if it is brought in as a CBU. If only, Kawasaki had priced the RS a bit more sensibly, I would have picked it up over my current Z900.

What a shame!.

Oh boy, where do I start ?

1. Vespa GTS 300 - for an exciting, yet stress-free commute to work.



2. Honda CB 650R - for adhoc short rides.



3. Yamaha YZF-R6 - for track days, and the occasional Sunday morning ride.



4. Honda CRF 450L - for exploring the wilderness.

Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha have a plethora of interesting motorcycles in their global inventory, but they choose to bring very few into India. Also, I feel that there is a huge dearth of large capacity scooters here. I'm sure there will be takers for 300cc+ scooters.

As much as I like superbikes, I would want something that is

>Comfortable for both Rider and pillion
>GEARLESS (cause I love riding hassle free)

What comes to mind more than a Maxi Sports scooter? They give everything a bike does and are cheaper too. The two I really like are the BMW Twins: C600 sport and C650GT

However, my all-time favourite would be the Honda X-ADV 750 (Cause it does all of the above and goes off Roading too )

I grew up longing to own a Yamaha RX100. When I came of age, they were no longer available.

My heart still yearns for the classic Tear-Drop Tank, Round Chrome Headlamps, Chrome Fenders, Spoke wheels...you get the drift.

The one bike which fits the bill is the Yamaha SR400. It is a modder's delight. I would like to keep it pure stock though.

If launched, it can cash in on the retro - nostalgia wave. It will be a far better machine than RE's & Jawa's.

Guys who grew up during the heyday of 100CC bikes have fond, wistful memories of the RX100.

You can't really ride a bulky Versys to every place, you put your foot down [guys below 6 feet] and if the ground isn't firm or its a stretch, you can't escape a fall.

Touring does present you with bad to horrible roads and you need to have a bit more fitness but I have seen few [not as many as ADV guys] riders touring the length and breadth in street/sports bikes.

I will never tour in a hatchback/sedan if I have the option of a SUV, but as far as 2 wheels go, I may prefer a GSX-S750 over a V-Storm.

Your observation about breakfast rides is absolutely correct. I have never been a part of it and will never be. A ride for me is at least a loop of ~500kms, but honestly, I respect everyone's POV and way of doing things.

Have a big list to buy but the first priority is Husqvarna 701 rally followed by Triumph Dayton 765.

I'm not a motorcycle guy and still doubt if I will be in the near future. I have been contemplating on this for quite some time now. If I were to buy one in the near future, or even otherwise, I would love to see any if not all of the following launched in India.

It's neither the most powerful bike around nor is it particularly good value. But there's something about the transversly mounted cylinders and the consequent sensation of the pistons firing next to your knees that makes it so so desirable!

I know this thread isn't getting too much action. Came here to check on this and I'm sad that it's being shunted from date to date. Beginning to doubt if Piaggio India wants to bring the Vespa GTS to India at all.

Let's hope for the best.
