This rad looking shroud of sexiness was bejeweled and crowned in the land of the Vikings and is adorned around the brain and brawn of it's entrepreneur cousin in Austria. Some say it's silhouette is reminiscent of a certain Indian made adv-tourer but I digress.

Details are only trickling in from all around and most of it is speculation, here are few:

• Named as the Husqvarna Norden 901, is a concept machine for now, Norden means 'the North' in German and Scandinavian, a reference to the Nordic countries.
  
• Has the new 890cc parallel-twin engine from the new KTM 890 Duke but tuned for adventure use.
  
• Uses a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear, just like the KTM 790 Adventure R, and has the WP suspension.
  
• Promises best-in-class lightness and compactness compared to it's ever-growing Hulk-like competitors in the segment.
  
• Seems like a Husky made app will help your smartphone pickup navigation and other functionalities and vice-versa from the dash.

Man these guys know how to design. In my opinion ADV bikes are the toughest to make to look good. But these guys have nailed it. It is good looking and purpose built. I just loved its stance.

Exactly what came to my mind as well!

A beautiful design nevertheless! Beauty is not something you associate with adventure tourers - but this one is sort of an exception.

I hope more manufacturers try retro designs for their adventure range as well.

Cannot agree more. It certainly looks "inspired" but much more refined!

All Husqvarna bike are fantastically designed. Check the 701 bike or the Svartpilen Aero .
One thing I don't understand is why the parent KTM sticks to the hideous insectoid looks.

I think beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

The KTM designs are a lot more brash, in your face, and younger looking. I love them.

The huskies are more aged, classic beethoven, and looks more beholden to someone in their 50's if I may say so myself

I like both of them equally, but if forced to choose will go with the Husky.

Waiting for them to venture in India, they have superb range of functional machines with amazingly beautiful engineering went into their designs. This concept with one Husky 701 rally or SM would complete the garage.

I was reading through the history of Baja 1000 rally and was amazed to see that Husqvarna won the first official race in '67 and dominated the race till '83, afterwards it's Kawasaki and Honda to this day.

When KTM released, the exhaust note was a bit different from other bikes,a lot of them did not like it as well. Sometime ago I watched a video on YouTube about Husqvarna and realized that Duke's sound is quite similar to the old 2 stroke. Take a listen and yes it seems Husky is the name of a particular model.

Husqvarna confirms that the Norden 901 is heading to production. No release dates but the engine, wheel size and the suspension specs mentioned in the OP (original post) is re-confirmed along with press release mentioning that the bike will have ”class-leading lightness while also offering perfect balance between off-road performance and touring ability".

Norden looks big and bulky. But if they drop a 390 version (a 401) with spokes and 21 inch front, I am listening.

The Norden is cool, but the concept we really need coming true is the Ducati Desert X!

It seems this body style is getting really popular these days with the Tenere 700 and now these two.

I am sure it will come!

If the 390 / 250 versions are developed, it looks like it will be more off-road capable than the current 390 adventure.

The Husqvarna Norden 901 has been spotted on a test, it looks production-ready and is expected to have:
- A two-part fuel tank
- U-shaped taillight
- Circular LED headlight in the usual Husky fashion
- 889cc parallel-twin engine
- Adaptive cruise-control system
- TFT instrument cluster
- Spoked wheels











The Norden could launch internationally later this year.
