According to a media report, Triumph is likely to launch the 2020 Rocket 3 in India on December 5, 2019.

Rumour: 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 launch on December 5, 2019-2020triumphrocket3rgtcruisertouringmotorcycles3.jpg

The new Rocket 3 is based on a new platform and comes in two variants - GT and R. It features twin circular headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The GT version gets twin seats with a back rest as well as a windscreen. The R version gets a short fairing instead of the windscreen. It also gets a single seat option. Both versions get bar-end mirrors.

The new Rocket 3 is powered by a 2,500cc, liquid-cooled engine that produces 165 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The Rocket 3 comes with an upside down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It is equipped with twin 320 mm disc brakes at the front and a 300 mm disc at the rear.

That's fresh and hot from the oven. International media drives were happening only earlier this week.

Hoping to take at least a test ride this time. This is one beast!

Wow! Those are some figures. Would be fun to get a test ride. Are there any 0-100 figures? Wondering if that would improve especially since they have reduced the weight.

Fat chance Keerthi Triumph would get one for a test ride :-) They didnt even have a Tiger 1200 for TR. Most of these low selling bikes get brought only on order.

Oh! I remember they had the Thunderbird and Rocket on display few years back. Don't remember about TD vehicles as I couldn't have handled such bikes even if I wanted to!

Then the only hope for me is if a certain Multistrada 1260 owner friend of mine upgrades. Twice the engine, almost twice the torque - twice the brutality. And yes - it comes in red.

Even if your MTS 1260 friend will upgrade to a power cruiser - its highly likely that he will choose the new Diavel 1260. More beautiful, nimble and will most likely crush the Rocket 3 on any winding road.

He is more of a highway guy - loves brutal highway acceleration than corner stability.

And going by UK pricing - Diavel 1260S is more expensive than the Rocket 3 R, despite having an 8hp & a drastic 93Nm deficit compared to the latter. Weight is a factor though - Diavel with 218kg dry and Rocket3 with 291kg dry - but then its got double the engine as well, so the weight is unavoidable. Triumph has lost 40kgs compared to the last generation!

Hoping all this torque will convert him to the Triumph side. 70% more!

Here's a TD video from Bike World. The rear tyre smokes even giving acceleration when the vehicle is running. Skip to 6:50. Also looks like a sweet handling machine as well, and he says it feels better than even the Diavel in the corners. Crazy!

Looks gorgeous and able to hide its bulk very well compared to the earlier generation. 40kg weight shed is really something and that 220 Nm torque should really give this some serious grunt. No wonder it's able to smoke the tyres on the run.

Got this WhatsApp message from the Triumph Pune dealer yesterday.

The unveil is on 5th Dec at Goa just before the India Bike Week.

Apparently, some dealers have started taking bookings as well.

That torque is insane - BUT that weight is a deal breaker especially considering he will have to ride atleast 5-6kms within Bangalore city traffic to hit the highway at a minimum

Diavel it is then !

CD, maybe if the Triumph Rocket 3 makes twice the heat, your Ducati friend will be able to make an apple to apple comparison with the Diavel and then decide!

P.S - After one Desmo service, the Ducati service bills will be twice that of the Triumph's. So there.

This video makes it clear - Diavel is more sporty, wild & a better bike overall

Is there more demand for the Rocket than the Daytona? I was under the impression that the Rocket would be discontinued. I have never caught sight of one yet in India.

Even i havent seen a single Rocket on road yet. But then Triumph doesnt even need to homologate it - they will "launch" this and then bring it to India on basis of firm orders after probably the first lot of 2-3 bikes which would have come for launch.
