The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa unveiled with a 1,340 cc engine

The new 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa patent images have leaked recently, courtesy Bennetts.co.uk, and the pictures give a fair idea of how Suzuki's new famed sports tourer will be like. With the stricter Euro-V emission norms, the motorcycle has already perished from the European markets and is currently on sale in only a few markets like India. Rumours of the new generation Hayabusa have already been in the air for a long time now. The patent images show that the new engine architecture is quite similar to the one on the existing model. However, one can see multiple changes that are required to meet the stricter Euro-V emission norms. Previous reports suggested that the new 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa will get a bump in engine displacement and the new motor will displace 1,440cc, which is 100cc more compared to the one on the outgoing model.

This is heartening to see and I hope the rumour is indeed true and the Busa will get a fresh lease of life. With the new model getting a bigger mill and possibly more electronic aids, it will be interesting to see how they price it vis-a-vis the outgoing version which frankly has a very sweet pricing in India.

re: The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa unveiled with a 1,340 cc engine

This one is going to be a heavy duty monster if it actually comes to see the light of the day.

I recently read that the Kawasaki Zx14r has stopped production for good with no successor in sight. If that's the case then the game is Suzuki's for the win.

The name Hayabusa itself is legendary and I think people will welcome the updated successor of it. Looks are subjective but I've always loved the way Busa looks and it's two exhaust cannons.

Pricing wise, I assume it'll be somewhere around 17 lakhs ex-showroom or something similar to the flagship Ducati and BMW. Time will tell.

Kawasaki replaced Zx14R with H2.

The H2 SX actually and not the H2.

And even the SX is not a direct replacement, Kawasaki wants us to think it is. The Zzr1400 remains the last true great bike of the open class era.

The new Suzuki Hayabusa is rumoured to debut in 2021 as reported in a Japanese journal.

What seems certain is that with a 1440cc powerplant and - if not otherwise, an option similar to the Honda DCT - a semi-automatic transmission. There are two major issues in the design of the Falcon. The first is how to solve Euro5 compatibility. These are double spark plugs, injector optimization, or a R1-like catalyst arrangement. But the point is: they will definitely start in the 200+ horsepower league!

Looks like the 'Peregrine falcon' is set to make a comeback. Reveal date is Feb 05, 2021 and they have incorporated an MID into the meter which looks cool with tacho and Speedo on either sides. It can also be seen that the bike still sports huge exhausts and looks like a redesigned front and rear as well!

The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa teaser video also gives a glimpse of the updated instrument cluster.

The TFT screen in the middle shows ‘SDMS’ lettering. This could mean that Suzuki would have implemented several engine power modes in the new Hayabusa. The motorcycle would be armed with other electronics as well such as a bi-directional quickshifter, traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, 6-axis IMU.

The major change apart from the centre TFT screen are that the turn, high beam indicator all have been integrated into the TFT screen now. The only eyesore seems to be the shift light indicator on the top of the TFT screen and now has red light instead of the white in the previous generation.

Further the Gen 3 seems would get a 1440cc mill which would be a 100cc bump over Gen 2. And this mostly would be a NA engine so could it see a significant bump in power? Seems quite possible if you see the power gain between Gen 2 and Gen 1.

Gen 1

Displacement - 1299 cc
Compression ration - 11.0:1
Power - 178hp
Torque - 138nm

Gen 2

Displacement - 1340cc
Compression ration - 12.5:1
Power - 197hp
Torque - 154nm

It seems with the cult following the Hayabusa name enjoys globally , Suzuki has a winner on their hand

re: The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa unveiled with a 1,340 cc engine

As an Existing Gen2 Hayabusa owner,
I don't see anything very enticing to switch to the 3rd gen.

Unless they add a turbo from the factory, shave off some weight,
they can't compete with the likes of Ninja H2.

Although My 'Busa forums are alight with excitement,
the general consensus is "Thank god, they are keeping the legacy alive."

Adios with a beautiful pic of my WHITE WOLF

What's with the mph graduation on the speedo? The only thing you'd end up squinting to read the kmph while riding is dead. Or is this a US market speedo with the rest-of-the-world getting a bigger kmph font?

Countries with MPH get this and countries with KMPH will get the KMPH fonts among other changes.
