I really liked the bike, but there was one BIG problem in the test ride. While going wide open throttle in 2nd gear at around 3k RPM, the bike would bog down at around 6k rpm and start juddering slightly. The same happened in 3rd gear also. When using partial throttle the bike was accelerating freely till redline. What can be the problem? My guess is blocked or faulty secondary injectors as the bike has no problem in partial throttle. Any advice on what can be the problem?
Get your transmission checked. It appears your second gear is slipping.

Re: My Suzuki Hayabusa aka Bluebird S12

Good news guys, the problem with the blue hayabusa I was looking at has been sorted. It was a faulty fuel pump motor. The part has been replaced and it is running like a dream now. Will hopefully finalise the purchase over the weekend....

Re: My Suzuki Hayabusa aka Bluebird S12

Got my first Shoei helmet and that to a very special and limited edition, which could be only one in India currently considering how difficult it is to get your hands on one.

Presenting my Shoei Z-8 Accolade and all thanks to Lanesplit/ bhpian no_fear for getting it hand delivered to me in Mumbai. This is the second helmet I got through them and the first one was a Arai official replica helmet worn by Lewis Hamilton for the 2009 F1 season. Always dreamt of owning an Arai/Shoei one day and as luck would have it I got both in a shot span of time

The helmet fits perfectly and cancel outs the ambient noise to a great extent and the visibility is crystal clear and for a moment I thought the visor was not down. I have only used it in the city and have to test it at high speeds and I am sure it won’t disappoint.

Re: My Suzuki Hayabusa aka Bluebird S12

The second interesting update after the Shoei was that Bluebird along with its other garage mates welcomed in a new member to the collection. Presenting Bianca my Ducati 848 EVO Corse.

Will, start a new ownership thread dedicated to the 848 once I understand its characteristics and temperaments better and once the running in of the engine is complete, which with monsoons arriving might happen only later this year.

Till then leaving you guys with some pictures…

Ooooh … LOVE IT. This model (NXR2 I guess elsewhere - Z8 in Japan) and this particular graphic was one of my shortlist options for my full face helmet although finally during my Japan trip I instead went in for the adventure touring option instead and when it was time to replace the full face I eventually picked up the Arai IOM TT.

My only hesitation with this graphic was that I’m really tired of maintaining matte colour schemes and this Accolade is only in matte. Absolutely stunning graphic though and a rare one here at least. Great find indeed - I believe this graphic is a 2022 / 23 addition to this particular model.

Its the graphics that really caught my attention and especially the kanji characters which as per the internet mean the following, left side kanji means “high speed riding”. The one on the right forehead means “revolution”, and the other one in the chin area means “strongest”.

This really goes well with the Busa paint scheme and its high speed capabilities and the kanji characters for the word Hayabusa on either side of the fairing. Also, as luck would have it I ended up buying a matte colour bike too post buying the helmet

Shite. I was so taken in by that helmet and the amount of time I’ve spent ogling at it a few months ago that I missed the much more spectacular update just one post apart. Congrats on getting an absolute beauty. I saw the Desert X in a similar looking matte white and I was just dreading how much TLC it would require to maintain that shade. Hopefully on a super sports at least it’ll be a notch better since it won’t go around mud wrestling.

Do post a review sometime of the Italian beauty. Quite an iconic garage now with one of the best of the East sharing space with a Western exotic.

Man! What a lovely addition to your garage. The satin white color is just beauty. I have seen this white color on Supersport S, pics just can't do justice.
Looking forward to hear more on Bianca.

Thank you. I will start a dedicated thread once I familiarise myself with the bike and its characteristics. I have only got a small taste of the midrange this engine produces as I have to keep the revs below 6k for 1k kms to complete the running in of the engine. Once I open the full tap I would be in a position to start the ownership thread for Bianca

For now, I plan to clean all the bikes on a Sunday in one go and click a group pic like this with the full collection.

She is a killer in the looks department for sure and a proper attention magnet. Even the build and parts quality is phenomenal which is a not a surprise since this was manufactured in Italy.

A thread dedicated to Bianca will happen soon🤞

Re: My Suzuki Hayabusa aka Bluebird S12

11,000 kms and avoiding certain death

I had not taken Bluebird for a long spin post the annual service as the RX and Bianca kept me busy the previous weekend. My Brio and Bianca are both getting some work done so I was hoping to get Bianca home today and the Brio on Monday. But as luck would have it Bianca will be spending the next week as well at my friends place as I have to travel for work and can only get her back post my return and the work is done.

So, I decided to take Bluebird for a spin with my Shoei and also it was just over a 100km shy from hitting the 11k km mark. I didn’t check with any of my riding buddies if they are riding and decided to go for a solo relaxed spin as the death of the youtuber in Delhi on his 10 R was running on my mind and was bothering me. Normally when I read such news I just avoid riding that weekend as it messes my mind completely and I am not in the right head space. But I decided to do a relaxed ride and started off late as well then my usual time.

The ride was uneventful and Bluebird performed flawlessly till my return journey when I had another scare of my life. I was taking a sharp high speed right corner and was in the fast lane with a Kia Carnival in front of me in the centre lane. Suddenly there is a puff of white dust from behind the Kia Carnival and I thought there is oil on the road and they had put mud to cover it, but to my horror a big RCC block came from under the carnival and I just narrowly avoided hitting it. The Carnival driver didn’t see it and his left front tyre went over it and broke the block in big and small pieces and scattered it on the road. The Carnival guy immediately pulled over to the left and so did I just stopping ahead of him. I asked him if his vehicle was ok and told him you hit a RCC block. He had no idea what he went over and I just pointed to the pieces scattered on the road behind him. My immediate thought was to clear those pieces off the road before someone damages their vehicle or worst losses their life after hitting as I said its a fast corner with a long straight stretch where everyone carries in high speed. Being a highway and high speed corner it was scary trying to move those pieces and trying not to get hit by someone in the process. I waived to many sports cars and superbikers trying to make them slow down and make them aware of the debris on the road. As it was grey in colour it was difficult for many to spot and I was just praying no bikers goes over it and crashes. I must have moved out close to 5-6 pieces which were quite significant in size and all by own as no one stopped to help or see what a guy with a riding jacket and helmet was doing in the middle of the highway. I just couldn’t continue with my journey back home without removing those pieces as it just reminded me of the incident I had in 2017, three months into the ownership where a stone hit my left fairing. I just thought If someone had removed it from the road I could have avoided that incident and thought this is my time to do the right thing even if no one else stops to do it as even the Carnival guy went about his own business and left immediately after inspecting for any damages to his car.

I am just lucky to have my guardian angel ride with me and happy to be alive and injury free including avoiding and damages to Bluebird.

P.s - Note to self to be 100% alert all the time when riding or driving no matter what as our roads have danger written over it all the time.

Some pictures…

A late start than my usual time of around 6:15 am. ODO reading at my place.

11,000 kms done and dusted and after I clicked this pic is when that incident happened after a few kms.

Re: My Suzuki Hayabusa aka Bluebird S12

You bike looks awesome. The shade of blue with white strip running thru it looks lovely and minimalistic.

As far as the incident goes, really appreciate people like you who think about others. We need more people with such a perspective and things will surely get better in India. Glad to hear that there was no further incidents. Trust me a lot more people want to do a lot more than but unfortunately a good Samaritan ends up suffering the most here in India and that why people end up opting to ignore things on road. Less of an issue with intents but more of concerns about negative outcomes. Had heard something about a Good Samaritan law getting rolled out, not sure if it has bee passed, or got stuck somewhere.

Lovely pics - the Shoei / Busa helmet bike color combo looks absolutely stunning, even more so on the move.

Looks like GP frequently stations himself at this very spot. Assume this is on the way back from Manor / Ahura right? Here’s one he took of mine while I was returning from Ahura (sometime last month) and it looks like the exact same place.

Thank you. This is really an eye catching colour on the Busa and you don't find many with the same shade on the streets. Will become a classic in a few years.

Thank you and as a human being/petrolhead at that moment I felt everyone's wellbeing riding/driving behind me was my responsibility. Being a national highway and especially a stretch where no one was doing below 100kph I was scared for my own life but was also praying that no one crashes in front of me because of the debris on the road as it was a proper red flag moment and hence I had to act fast and couldn't wait for someone to stop and help me.

In the end the almighty did his part and we all lived to see another day.

Thank you. I really don't buy helmets matching the bike as I will then have to own half a dozen of them . But in this case I made an exception as this is a really unique piece. For Bianca I think I will have to get my white Nolan back in action.

He normally clicks pictures on the way to Ahura before 8 am and then he moves to the opposite side to take pictures of people returning.

Yes, you're picture on the Multi is clicked at the same location, but that is not his usual spot and earlier he used to be stationed at the tight long left hander turn after the multiple S shaped bends on the return journey. I asked him if he has switched his spots and he said that now every weekend will be a different location as I guess people are tired of having multiple clicks of the same spot every weekend.

It would be difficult to spot him now as he has no fixed location and so you can't avoid getting covered by a truck or a car but if you have loud pipes he can spot you much earlier and position himself better. My friends tell me when I approach them from behind it sounds as if a missile is coming their way with the Titanium TB'S
