New Speed Triple will get a bigger engine the 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled set up is expected to be 1160cc in capacity with Euro 5 compliance. Expected to get around 175 BHP when launched later this year.Exhaust, suspension, frame have all changed on the new bike

The bike looks compact for the Speed Triple relative to the older version, it looks like a grown version of the Street now. I had a short test ride on the older one and enjoyed it, felt a little nose heavy though. Perhaps the feeling of bulk reduction is due to the side exhaust now.

Hope this gives the other hypernakeds a real run for their money. The low end would probably be insane. There is no other big triple in that class. If Triumph makes it decently comfy, quick and price it right, it should be a quick hit. Hope it becomes like the Rocket 3 thats basically harassing the Diavel

I am not very aware of big bike dimensions so the query - is the bike small or the rider large?
I always assumed Triumph Street Tripple to be a relatively big bike.


I find the design in these pics to be too busy, though we would really know post launch.

In my post above, I was talking about just how the Speed looks, specs and all that will be seen later. Yes, the rider appears to be large sized, however, the Speed does look rather toned down overall and less bulky than the version it replaces. The side exhaust replacing the big under seat ones on both sides is making a difference too. It should surely be even more insane and easier to ride, if they have made it lighter and faster than before.

Comparatively, the Street Triple looks relatively much smaller for sure. The Street is like an RX 100 on a high dose of steroids . This is meant in a light vein (not power wise or anything like that), both are light, flickable and extremely fun machines to throw around with ease.

The brawny look of the old Speed and its gorgeous twin under seat exhausts are what clearly differentiated it from the old generation Street. Many people would see the two side by side and not know the difference but motorcycle enthusiasts would clearly be able to notice the different proportions and design elements.

The new Speed looks a little too similar to the new Street though. Its gone from being a visually similar XXL Street to an almost identical XL sized Street.

I have always been a fan of the Speed Triple and have always felt that the bike had a lot of soul. Yes it was overweight and lost the VFM plot against the Japs but there was something about that bike which gave it a very strong personality in my books.
Glad to see Triumph hasnt given up on it but I doubt it'll come to India until they can price it sensibly vs the competition.

Issue is that liter class nakeds dont sell in India. So highly unlikely it will come to India.
