Ducati Scrambler 800 BS6 listed on website

The 2021 Ducati Scrambler 800 range has been listed on the brand's Indian website.

The updated Scrambler will be available in a new Nightshift variant which is priced at Rs. 10.70 lakh. Prices for the Desert Sled start at Rs. 11.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The official launch is expected in early 2021.

The Scrambler Nighshift gets a matte grey and charcoal colour scheme. The bike has cafe racer style mirrors and a flat seat. The lack of a rear mudguard adds to the retro style.

The new Desert Sled comes in a new Sparkling Blue colour scheme with gold wheels. It has a new anti slip seat and a headlamp guard.

The Scrambler 800 will be powered by a BS6-compliant 803cc, 2-cylinder engine. It produces 71 BHP @ 8,250 rpm and 66.2 Nm @ 5,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.

In addition to these variants, the Scrambler Icon will also receive a BS6 engine.

Re: Ducati Scrambler 800 BS6 listed on website

Is the Desert Sled really going to be 11.8 L Ex Showroom? The 1100 model is priced at 11.9 ex showroom.

That seems way too close considering the difference in engines.

Re: Ducati Scrambler 800 BS6 listed on website

For all of us who have been complaining about the super steep price hikes for BS6 variants of superbikes by Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda, now it is Ducati's turn to join the party.

- The Desert Sled at Rs 11.8L ex showroom is nothing short of highway robbery. The capable bike was priced at Rs 9.93L (already super steep at that time!) in its BS4 avataar.
- Variant pricing seems to be skewed as well, as imranstael rightly pointed out, the off road based Desert Sled is at Rs 11.8L while the bigger and more technologically advanced Scrambler 1100 Pro is at Rs 11.95 L. Of course, horses for courses and all that, but still this is a poor pricing strategy.
- Pricing of the Monster 821 seems reasonable in comparison at Rs 10.99L.
- It will be interesting to see how Ducati positions the based Scrambler 800s going forward.

I think it is time that we just get used to these insane price hikes under the BS6 umbrella, from every international manufacturer!

Re: Ducati Scrambler 800 BS6 listed on website

I spoke to the Ducati guys in the Bangalore showroom. They maintain that Ducati India has not announced or released prices for the BS6 model.
Indeed the Ducati India website does not have prices for the Scrambler 800 line yet but does show the prices of other models.

Maybe the news article is inaccurate.
