Happy Riding!
On a normal day with moderate wind speed, it is comfortable till 120 to 130 kmph. Beyond that, the wind blast becomes ao high that you need to tuck in and almost rest your chest on the fuel tank as speed increases further. This is a part of the thrill package that comes with any naked bikes. Some people go for aftermarket wind screens to make things comfortable to some extent.

Completed 3k on the bike with a solo ride last weekend to Amby valley, Lonavala. Visited hometown for a month and hence not much riding in March.

One of my favorite street bikes - kudos on your purchase and I wish you many many miles riding.

One suggestion - given the condition of our roads, might be safer if you add headlight shields (clear plastic). One of my friend's Triumph headlights got shattered due to gravel flying off from a truck. It was a freak incident, but still the whole unit had to be changed.

re: My 2020 Triumph Street Triple R BS6 Review. EDIT: 2 years & 17000 km up

Not much rides due to summer approaching in full flow as well as corona cases/lockdown galore.

Still, did a couple of solo rides during weekdays with all the precautions. Few random clicks.

6 months update.

My ‘R’ completed 6 months yesterday. It’s a great ownership till now.
Recent Odometer reading -

My 2020 Triumph Street Triple R BS6 Review | EDIT: 22,000 km up & sold-444dcd83e21b4d80a88f8649e1909fff.jpeg

It’s been full lockdown since my last update so not much running unfortunately.

Got a customer satisfaction survey form over email from Triumph today regarding 6 month ownership. Quite elaborate pointing right questions. Not sure if any action will be taken from here for future iterations though . This was second satisfaction survey from Triumph.

They were interested in knowing if more colour option will help, is it value for money, how’s engine performance, ride, suspension, paint quality, fit finish, pillion/rider comfort etc.

Also was a point regarding what would be good to have features. I updated them about backlit switches, self cancelling indicators and ambient temperature reading should be must have.

Some random pictures from a cleaning session.

re: My 2020 Triumph Street Triple R BS6 Review. EDIT: 2 years & 17000 km up

4000 kms in odometer

Pune unlock(with restrictions) happened since this Monday and I started right away.

With monsoon knocking on Pune’s door, not much ‘dry’ time is left. Did two solo morning rides in last 2 days.

Lonavla/Amby Valley.

Khandi point. This was my first ride/drive to Khandi and I was mesmerised. Entire route is serene. Zero traffic and less speed means no wind drag and the in-line 3 sound was symphony to my ears throughout.

5000 kms completed

It’s almost 8 months(1 week to go) into ownership and bike is a joy to own.
Keeping the bike in higher gear and maintaining speed under 100kmph will reward you with fuel economy of around 25kmpl as per console.

It’s only solo ride in last 3-4 months. The last group ride was the team-bhp meet at Lonavala in February 2021.

Ride to Wai.

Congrats abhi_tjet for the milestone.
That fuel economy is akin to my 310 GS (provided when I ride her hard ).

With this what is the usual tank range which you are able to extract at highways speeds ?

Thanks for wishes Nitin
For average(spirited) highway runs, 200-220kms is the range and I refuel when range in console goes below 50kms.

For sedate driving which is, frankly speaking not possible, the range can easily be around 250 kms without the low fuel indicator popping up.

Congratulations on 5k. I just got delivery of my own Street Triple RS last Friday. Haven't really been able to ride it much due to work but I'm planning a trip this weekend.

re: My 2020 Triumph Street Triple R BS6 Review. EDIT: 2 years & 17000 km up

Update after 6000kms

Bike is running like a peach. Had to get it pressure washed couple of times to clean the muck and dirt (some portions are still dirty).

Odometer has crossed 6k kms and ownership duration is 9 plus month now.

Quickshifter replacement

Sometime in July, I noticed that the quickshifter wasn’t working. Took it to Triumph and they confirmed that something is amiss. Dropped the bike for couple of days at their place for them to take the readings, etc. so that they can order the part.

It took a month and 3 visit to get the part finally fitted. Quickshifter, however, started working on its own later. Still, since the part was ordered and it might create a problem later, got it replaced.

Replaced part

re: My 2020 Triumph Street Triple R BS6 Review. EDIT: 2 years & 17000 km up

That's an amazing experience there. I'm visiting Kawasaki (Wakdewdi) and Triumph (Abhimanshree) this Sunday for a TD of the Z900 and STripleR. The only challenge I feel is the size of the motorcycle, me being 6ft tall a little over 100 the bike feels small. I had a D390 before this and this was the sole reason to sell it off.

Could you please provide me with your contact number (DM) would like to know more if I choose the STripleR.

Hi abhi_tjet, Congratulations on your purchase, and I really love the way you are achieving milestones. One of the cons you mentioned was wind blast. Being a naked that's bound to happen. However, I wanted to know if you or anyone here has tried touring windscreens on naked. I am on the lookout for my next purchase, and most likely I will pick up Yamaha Tracer 09 GT, however I absolutely love the MT10 and of course Street Triple. I ride a lot, both on the weekdays for commutes and on the weekends I mostly end up covering around 300 kilometers. And once the lock down ends, I plan to tour a lot, with a trip to Phillip Island for MotoGP race being high on the bucket list. It would be great if you could give your feedback on riding comfort on long rides and if a touring windscreen really helps. I don't want to skip the naked category.

Thanks,
CK
